Anyone here hire people to promote links to your website by commenting on various places such Social Media, Forums, Blogs, etc?

Do you hire them from Upwork, Freelancer, etc?

How much do you pay them and what instructions do you give them?

And what is the result?

I do hire from Upwork, and Fiverr. Now in commenting on various places you must give hired person these important notes:

    1. Comment on highly relevant pages.
    2. Be specific about whatever they're about to write. Writing that make sense, not just random writing.
    3. And keep attention on the DA metric. Google gives value of links that comes from high DA websites.

I second this approach. As someone who does this, I suggest you also write some "canned" responses (not to copy/paste), but to give your VA an idea of what (and how) you respond to certain types of posts.

Be sure she/he reads a number of your comments (in your voice) on various types of posts (business/social/casual) to get an idea what to post.

At first, training may take a bit longer but is well worth it. Try a walk-through via a Skype call can be beneficial too.

p.s. Active participation in FB groups is also a great way to market your link. Be sure they aren't link dropping, though. This way you can write your posts (10 - 20) so he/she can copy/paste the same information post in one or two groups (more will alert spam)

It can be done, as long as these "comments" are not spam.

I am not asking an SEO question actually.

I am asking about promoting links for direct traffic.

Thank you to those who gave the answers.

You're right, this has very little to do with SEO. There was a comment that said it is, but that's wrong.

Do keep in mind that people may react very negatively to something they see as astroturfing. If you're running a small company, and you're using a generic huge forum such as WF I'm pretty sure no-one cares if it's you or your virtual assistant posting. If you're using FB groups the context is totally different.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

        What's your excuse?
