SEO Strategy

hello warriors,

Currently i am writing new article, which is going to be one of the most detailed and big in my niche. More specifically top 10 competitors have top 20 list of plugins and i am going to publish article about top 30 (i can do more then that, but it doesn't make any sense to include bunch of unnecessary plugin). problems is that i have to figure out way i want to publish this content. article itself is more than 2500 words long, plus each plugin has it's own image. How do you think is it better to make 2 pages for this article? if i divide this article in to two pages will i loose any chance to rank on 1st position?

  • Make it one page, why do you want to dive it into two? That way you'll have to rank two separate URLs.

    • Make it 30 pages, use a silo structure and the main page will benefit quite a bit, SEO-wise.

  • can somebody explain me what silo structure means? the website which is ranked on 1 position has 800 word article on first page and another 800 on second page. trust me those plugins are so simple, I can't write 800 word long post for each plugin to beat this site. because you have suggested me to create 30+ different pages for each plugin.
  • Some of the SEO strategies that must be applied to your websites to increase its visibility are:
    1. Always write for the audience, not for the search engine.
    2. Never over flood your content with keywords, try to use in a particular ratio.
    3. Generate backlinks.
    4. Guest posting in high ranking sites.
  • Usually these "top 10" articles are quite useless from this point of view. All you need is one good plugin for some specific use, and writing a solid top ten seems to be very hard. It's pretty rare to have even five competing plugins that are worth considering.

If you're listing niche-specific tools... Well, maybe in that case, but 20 or 30 is going to be a stretch. Usually those articles are just a bunch of lazy copypasta from plugin pages or poorly written, unhelpful and generic descriptions. I'd rather concentrate on writing a solid piece on a handful of plugins.

Are you really able to write something useful about 30 plugins? Have you tested them extensively? Or even installed them? Can you provide some insight on them?
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • i understand what you have suggested to me. At this point i was just wondering how to show this post to my reader in right way. WP theme i am using right now has smart list option which creates separate page for each list. But now i have found article by Brian Dean about SEO Tools: The Complete List (153 Tools Reviewed and Rated), where he posted article on one page and didn't separate it on individual pages. i think it's better to create on page and include everything on it. like this :http://backlinko.com/seo-tools
    what do you think?
  • Post your article with single page and don't use that content on other sites. And if you have a article section in your website then its better to post that content on your website instead of other site.

Keep focus on quality not quantity...
  • Use new traffic keyword check semrush through and on page optimizations and then off page optimizations with 100% unique content.
