Hi there,

Won't bore you with the details of how it has happened but basically myself and my business partner have managed to inherit a website.

The website sells furniture and gets quite a lot of targeted traffic, at about 30,000 unique visitors per month.

The previous person who has running the site has enabled adsense on it and it makes about $5,000 dollars per year through adsense.

Now I don't really know much about adsense but I am thinking with those volumes of traffic, we should be trying to get more money per adsense click.

Anybody know anything about this or could point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Go to Spy Fu and check the Cost Per Click for furniture. It is about 50 cents to $1.50.

This is pretty low in the scheme of things.

A couple of things you could try.

Make sure each page is highly targeted. eg -

    page 1: leather swivel seats
    page 2: timber tables
    page 3: plastic chairs

etc etc - this will help make the ads that show to be as relevant as possible. Not sure if you have scope to modify this. However, don't modify your old page urls - you want to keep them the same.

You could also try moving the ads to different positions and changing the colors of the ads.

There is also a competitive filter you can try too. Check you Adsense account.

It will be hard to get more per click as indicated by SpyFu.

    Hope some of this helps.
