I've just built a site in the eco-friendly niche with factual blog posts and reviews with Amazon links. I'm ranking on page 1 #10 for one product "product name niche reviews", but the main two keywords are 174 and 178. Quite a few product name variations are about 11 to 30, but these are low/no traffic. I've been reading about GSA search engine ranker, but it seems a bit spammy unless it's done properly?
Backlink strategy, natural or blackhat or a bit of both?

At present I've been posting to Twitter, Facebook, G+, Tumblr, Pinterest and StumbleUpon. I haven't submitted to any directories yet and I done a few manual blog comments.
The main purpose of this site is to rank quickly on page 1 or 2 for the main keywords, show some profit and sell it.
PBN is not an option and I don't fancy buying low quality links. What strategy is best to use?
