YouTube SEO Questions

Hi there,

I recently started doing YouTube SEO. I've been getting good views and even clicks on my link. 2 of my videos in fact, got over 4000+ views combined in a matter of a week for one video and the other took a month.

I've been getting an average of at least 40-50 clicks on my link which goes straight to a capture page. My concern is, I'm getting a lot of views, I'm getting clicks but only generating 1-3 leads daily. When I checked my analytics, my retention rate was around 78-92% and what surprised me was the countries where I'm getting the views from. A large percentage from 3rd world countries.

My question is, what's the perfect solution to this? Do I need to be location specific with my keywords? Do you think it's a capture page issue as well? If so, what service can I use, preferably cheaper, to create CP's. At the moment, I have 8 SEO optimized videos with 3 vids on page 1 and 2 of them over 2000 views each. I;m just curious as to why I'm getting a low opt-in rate with no conversions yet. In 1 month, I've gained 35 leads so far from this campaign. Do you recommend I keep shooting videos and uploading or should I switch my focus elsewhere?

I would love to hear what you have to say.

2%+ conversion (or opt-in) rate doesn't seem that bad to me. Especially if some of the visitors don't have great potential to convert to being with.

It sounds like you're doing a fairly good job on the videos and YouTube SEO. If your traffic consistently increases the more vids you create that's probably a good route to take. However, that may not be the case. The videos may rank for some time, and fall when there's fresh competing content. Targeting is clearly something you need to focus on, but unfortunately I've got no insight on that.

I'd show the landing page to some friends and contacts who understand web, and see if they have any comments on it. Conversion optimization might also be something you want to investigate. It may sound like a daunting task, but the tools are actually quite good nowadays. Some tools allow you to set up simple tests directly from the editor. Visual Website Optimizer is the one I've used.

Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

I will keep uploading fresh content for this. So you think that's a good conversion? I'm used to converting at least 30% with solo ads. This was pretty much like a test run for me to get the experience and learn the ropes. The keywords I'm targeting are getting around 1900-2400 searches monthly. They are extremely targeted however. I am still averaging 30-50 clicks daily and 1-3 leads still.

I hope this sure picks up. I like this strategy and my mentor is doing really well with it. So far tho, the leads I'm getting aren't too great. Not getting that many opens on my emails no matter how many times I segment them.
