Broken Link Building: Am I doing it right?

by Liarspoker 3 replies
Ok, I am trying some broken link building however it seems like it is much more work than articles on the subject say.

My steps are as follows:

I go to Google and type in a fairly broad keyword.

I then click on each link and run it through Domain Hunter +.

Often there are no dead links but if there are I will check them out visually to see if they are a good fit for my site.

If the links are not a good fit I move on. If the links look good then I try to find the archived page through archive sites.

Often the archived pages have not been saved.

I can often work for an hour without finding relevant deadlinks that I can direct to my site.

Am I on the right path? How do you guys do it?

    why not try this
1 identify top rated site on google for ur niche
2 download his backlinks with ahrefs
3 start building links where the top rated site also has links

      Yes, I do that too.

I just read that broken link building is highly scalable and that you should get a few links every day that way so I thought I'd try it as an experiment.

You don't really need to find an archived page to be certain if the link is viable or not. If I think my content is still relevant to the site with the link or provides something useful to that site, I'm going to go after it whether I can find an archived copy of what they were linking to or not.
