My main website has been on position one for at least 6 months but in the last couple weeks when looking at keywords google analytics says people use to get to my site I have seen this

  • Sounds like you have some bad inbound links. Check you link profile in Webmaster tools and disavow any links that seem suspicious.

      Go to your webmastertool and find out bad link and delete that. Also todays seo is very sensitive and competitive.
  • All these are spam sites so if you're getting a backlink from those sites, quickly check-out your webmaster tool and first find such more spam links and send them a mail to remove your website link and if they don't do then disavow those links....
  • These are referral site which aren't really visiting your site. They are manipulating your analytics data. There are ways to filter these spam referral site.

    But, I don't think that these are the cause why your ranking is getting lower.

    Check some other factors instead.
  • I think time has come to get your website consulted by an SEO expert. Ranking dropping is not a good sign for your website, it may be causing due to low quality backlink profile and poor content publish on your website.
  • I hear what all of you are saying about the links but I haven't gotten any new backlinks if at least 6 months as I got a little tired of looking for them and a little lazy as well. Also I have never used webmaster tools to look for bad backlinks so I would need a little information about doing that. Thanks
  • Block those bad inbound links. Webmaster tools is your best friend here.

At the same time I have gone from position one to position 20 for some keywords and from position one to not even being listed in the top 20 pages.
