Question about google indexed pages

I recently won an auction site that is aged around 18 years. It is currently parked on godaddy.com. I checked and there are about 1300 pages indexed on google currently. Should I recreate these urls? Should I just start new and start putting quality content up asap and start aggressive white hat SEO with it? Kinda lost with where to start.

You need to look at the backlink profile & see which URLs are important. Isn't that the only reason you bought the domain (backlinks)?
  • I bought it for the age and total value of the domain. When I do a backlink check it pulls up different numbers for different backlink checkers. Which one is the best to use?

    • I have always found that Ahrefs is the most reliable for reporting links. I also use Majestic, Moz, and SEMRush, Ahrefs is by far my go to pick.

No single backlink scraper will give you 100% of the backlinks. Combine all the link sources together & remove duplicate URLs (ex: Scrapebox). That's the best you'll ever get for backlink profiles.

Domain age doesn't rank pages, easy to prove, find an old domain with no backlinks, they're not ranking for anything competitive.
  • all SEO specialist to work with the most important port of google ranking this is common for all properties.
  • Some people like to restore the sites to their old content but I never do this.

The reason is I never find sites that are actually int he same niches as my money sites.

What I do is just put new content on them and link to my own sites.

  • Check out the the urls backlinks. Getting indexed isn't the only part here, are they getting ranked for it. Use any good backlinks checker tool. You can also see them in the webmasters tool.
If they are doing great then yo can update or add more content to it.

  • exmrb- I used ahref and it states that there are 18 backlinks. How do I tell how strong they are? I am a little confused to how to bring this site back up. It is valued in the millions. Not sure how accurate it is since estibot valued it only at 1200.
  • Yukon- I read somewhere that older domains have a lot easier chances at ranking faster. Not sure how much of this is true. Let me ask you a question, is worthofweb.com a reliable source in terms of website value? Also, how much is Alexa Ranking important? The domain I won is right at 20K for Alexa Ranking.

    • I am not saying that they are not reliable but you can't expect the true value also.
