Just wondering i have started to use shortcodes on my blog more often after starting to use this coupon code plugin magic lite ..right..

But the thing is i have never seen much hits to my pages which have mainly shortcode init,

So im thinking the SEO value is not much with short codes generated pages ?

Can any of the experts comment or confirm on this

Here is an example of one of my pages using shortcode with the magic lite plugin

Many new wordpress themes use shortcodes now, so im a bit worried about this specially SEO

Apologies but i had to provide a link to show an example shortcode page for people to check..will remove if not allowed

The use of a shortcode doesn't itself do anything to SEO. Shortcode gets rendered to HTML.

You're pondering about the wrong thing. Here's a better question: Why is the content that the shortcode generates popular?

      Hi netriapina

Thats what i was actually thinking about... the shortcode gets rendered on a visit.. does that mean that google indexes that content differently.. or does the content behind the shortcode get indexed and crawled..

Im not getting any great results grom short code content pages.. inspite of creating some good pages

Google indexes what Google bot sees on the page. There's no "behind the shortcode" that they could see. How could there? Sure, the shortcode author could try to detect Google bot and try to present a different view, but I've never seen that happen.

If your content is some generic coupon codes that's very hard to rank. There's a ton of sites competing for this exact same thing.

You said you are not getting hits on your pages, I don't think that relates to short code... its basically depends on what techniques you are using while doing seo for this website.

Using short codes is nothing to do with the hits of your website. Its entirely different things from each others.

Hits on your website not relate to the shortcuts.

So probably missing out on lot of smart device views.. bugger.. need to change plugin..

Short codes cloaking .. anyone ..could that be it ?
