Hi Im wondering if anyone can help me.

I have a lot of keyword domain names for my neiche in personal training in sydney.

I have some of the follwoing:

personaltrainersydney.com.au
personaltrainersydney.sydney
rapidweightloss.sydney
personaltrainersydneycbd.com.au

All of these equate too about 2000 exact keyword searches per month.

I planned to have them with lead pages/landing pages linking back to my main site, dinnymorrisfitness.com.au.

I was wondering though...... what should I do with them, I had planned to have them linking to the site, but now I think google have ranked these not very high as if they don't have any original content on them then they will not be ranked?

Would really appreciate some feedback by someone that is using keyword domain names to get them ranking and linking back to their main site, for leads or sales thanks.

If those are all available to you, you might have just hit the local SEO jackpot.

In my experience, it's relatively easy to rank for your domain name, unless the pages you're competing with are extremely high authority.

Take a look at the PA, DA, and # of backlinks for the pages ranking for those keywords. If those numbers are all high, you might have a tough time ranking for them.

If they're not that high, it might take a little time and some backlinks to get ranked, but as I said, I've noticed that it's relatively easy to rank for your domain name.

What you will want to do, however, is put some long-form content on the page. Maybe make it a long-form landing page that encourages people to click over to your main site.

This will increase your chances of ranking rather than just including a bit of text and a link back.

And depending on how expensive those domains are, it could be well worth the investment to test it out.

      Hye Micheal

I own all of these domains in my name, so I dont need to buy these as I already own them out right.

Im just not 100% sure what to do with them.

      Thanks Dinny

    Ah okay. Good.

I'd still suggest creating long-form landing pages with them and linking to your main website. They may not be ranking now, but with some in-depth content and backlinks they'll likely climb up, depending on how steep your competition is.

      Thanks Michael

Do you recommend a certain amount of words? And then I would link these back to my main page? thanks Dinny

I would say around 1,500-2,000 words. I've seen at least a few in-depth studies recently that found that most pages ranking on the first page have around 2,000 words of content on them, and in my experience these pieces tend to rank higher.

You also naturally pull in a lot more long-tail traffic, simply because there are more words on the page for Google to scan and rank you for.

In linking back to your main page, I would create buttons with calls-to-action and link those to your main page. Intersperse them throughout the content.

That's the main action you want people to take, so you want to make those stand out.

The answer is simple, you have to put some genuine original content on them for high ranking.

I would use at least one or perhaps two of the domain to redirect to your main domain so you can direct backlinks to the redirect domain which is probably safer than having the backlinks go directly to your main domain.

Ok thanks for all your answers.

I have hired a person to help me with my site, and she is going to train me up on how to utilize my wordpress site SEO a lot better, this is in person, which is good for my learning she is google certified, she has mentioned that keyword domain names are not ranking as well as they used to? What are your thoughts on this?

      I have decided this:

      personaltrainersydney.com(main search term in sydney)
2000 landing page content with call to action buttons as metioned by Michael Karp
I have also 10 500-1500 word blogs that were meant to be used for this site when it was going to be an air bnb type of find a personal trainer site. I will use these.
I will then have this linking back to my main site? Or should it be the otherway around? Will it matter if I have the same You Tube video on this site as my main site? As this is an intro video into how I work with clients etc?
I also have the website domain, DIY Weight Loss & Healthy Recipes | Weightloss.com.au I just got it on go daddy ok im a bit of a hoarder, I hope this all works for me. I will do the same, 2000 landing age, with call to action buttons linking back to my site, then I will have some blogs as well.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

      Thanks Dinny

I would suggest to use informative lead pages with enough content to educate people, and use the relevant keywords in that content. Make sure that onsite of those pages were correctly done and make sure to have attention grabbing call to actions to divert the traffic towards your website.

Hi, i'm Dion from South Africa. I was wondering if you had any luck using those domain names effectively? I bought 26 domain names e.g. architecturalhouseplans.co.za but when i type "architectural house plans" into google then my website address doesn't appear on the search results. Have you figured out an effective method to get your domain with keyword phrases, to come up onto Google search results yet?
