Consider this situation,

Let say I write one informative and good article and submit it to hundreds of article sites.
The purpose is for backlink and traffic.

Is this allowable seo strategy to increase backlink?

Will my site get penalized by google?

I'm quite confused about duplicate content penalty.

Yes, no duplicate content. As long as there is no duplicate content within your site, it is not a problem at all.

All of my SEO campaigns link building strategies revolves around article marketing. Personally, I think that article marketing is a great way to get both traffic and links.

I always read that as long as there is no duplicate content within your site, then
it is ok.Does that the whole meaning of duplicate content?
Which mean that if there is a duplicate content on different site, then it is ok to google
      eye.Google will filter those content.Am I right?

    Hi Azim,

Let me give you an example. For example, you have 2 articles with different content: Article A and Article B.

As long as you don't post Article A on more than one page of your site, it should not be a duplicate content penalty. If you want to be on the safer side, submit article B to the various article directories.

Yuyuan is right, there can be hundreds, even thousands of sites repeating the content of your site with no ill effect, the problem is with content within your site.

Many don’t know this but www.mysite/articleA and mysite/articleA is considered duplicate content by google, this gets even worse when you have content produced automatically as mysite/aticleA, mysite/index.php?artnumb=1 and mysite/index.php?artnumb=1&reff=joe at the eyes of Google’s spiders this one article is duplicate content, even if it’s only on one page and the software access the information from different URLs (a bit off topic I know), just keep it simple and you’ll be safe.

Publishing articles is a GREAT strategy, you are in the right path.

OH wow, I never even thought of this. But isn't the search engine smart enough not to over penalize for something like this? I mean if most sites do stuff like this...

Yes, that is no duplicate content. However, If you can submit the same article to at least 3 directories that is fine, Then, just rewrite the articles and post on other directories....
