Backlinks are with www but website is cached without www

What to do in case a website is opening with both www and without www.
All the backlinks of website are with www.
Besides this, many of my pages are cached with without www as in my sitemap.xml url are mentioned without www.
No. of cached pages with www are very less. what should i do.
Should i again create a sitemap xml with www and resubmit in GWT. further set my redirection to www, so i wouldn't have to change my backlinks..

        No. Do you know what redirect means?

        But as I said if the backlinks are with www I'd choose that one unless there's a compelling reason not to. There's no difference between the addresses.

      Choose one of them, and redirect the other address to the one you've chosen.

      Google is not stupid like that. The system usually realizes that it's dealing with the same site, and doesn't cache pages for one of the addresses. And that's for your benefit. Otherwise you'd compete against yourself.

      It makes absolutely no difference. Both addresses are equally fine from SEO point of view.

      Added: if you've got a lot of backlinks pointing to one of the addresses it's probably better to choose that one. Redirection is said to slightly dilute a backlink.
