Strange Google Indexing

Hello,
In the past - after posting a new post on my website, I would use "Fetch As Google" and it would be indexed and ranked within few minutes.

For example - I posted a "Iphone 6 review" (Just an example) post. Then used "Fetch As Google". After 5 minutes - when I searched "Iphone 6 review" I would see my post on the first page.

In the last 2 weeks, My posts don't get ranked at all (just indexed). I can find them only by (following my example) searching "Iphone 6 MY-WEBSITE-NAME" or "site:My-WEBSITE-NAME.COM". This never happened before (and I got hundreds of posts that were indexed and ranked by Google ). All posts are 400-500 words long, original content.

What happened ?

That's personalized SERPs unless you were checking with another browser that had no cache/history. If you were logged into Chrome the same session running Incognito is still personalized SERPs.

I use SERP checking tools... So no cache and no history.
      So... WHAT HAPPENED?

No idea. I just post the content, my sitemaps plugin pings Google (Better Wordpress Google XML Sitemaps), the page is indexed and ranked (somewhere) within 1-72 hours.

Maybe Fetch as Google no longer actually gets the page indexed.

Another Theory: If they were all reviews, maybe Google figured out you were a scammer. Posting fake reviews is illegal. You can talk about products all day but the content better not say it's a review unless you actually reviewed it. In the case the reviews are legally compliant, I highly suggest you have a way to prove you actually reviewed it, such as unique photos or videos on the page.

Example of a complaint review: The Hoverboard You Should Get (So Far) | The Wirecutter

I highly suggest you refer to:

        https://www.ftc.gov/sites/default/fi...mentguides.pdf

10 Things Every Marketer Should Know About Fake Reviews | Kelly Warner Law

If you have fake reviews on your sites, I recommend you turn that content into "Feature Overviews" and "Feature Comparisons" which are compliant with the law. Replace the word "review" with "look" or "observation" and make 100% certain the word "review" does not appear in the article title or body of the content. Also make sure you are not endorsing the product in anyway. It's just an article that discusses it's features. Optionally for SEO, you could say something like "if you chose to purchase and review this product, here are some things to consider" ideally near the top of the content. Or disclose that it's not a review in a clever way by saying something like "I haven't actually had the chance to test this yet, but here's what you need to know about the product."

          Very good theory.

Regarding the "fake reviews". I mostly review products I already own or tried. I don't think someone can sue you for posting a review claiming "you did not actually reviewed or tried it" .It's just what you think about the product. Why would I need a way to prove I actually "owned" and "reviewed " a product?

There are thousends of websites that review products without actually buying/using them.

I just linked to the law.

There's websites that sell steroids, child porn, and stolen credit cards.

JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE DOING IT, DOESN'T MAKE IT LEGAL.

BECAUSE THAT'S THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT CROOKS DO.

Holy Sh...... When did WF become a nexus of scam artists?

Why do I need to comply with the law? Are you kidding me man? WTF...

I get your point. Thanks for bringing this topic up. Very important for sure. As I mentioned before - I don't post fake reviews.

Those are unpredictable at best especially considering none of them account for local SERP listings, Google News, Social Media or Google Maps which can easily bump your page to the 2nd page of the SERPs but show up on the rank tracker as first page.

You have to actually check the SERPs but do it so you're not seeing personalized SERPs.
