Help Please - To remove links related to my friends' business from google search result

Dear All,

Friend of mine is running a legitimate healthcare business for local community after taking over this business for sometimes now (around 1yr+), last week he did a random google search of his business address, it come up a website with adult contents and advertised with inappropriate keywords on it, we've tried to contact the site owner but his real identify is protected so we can only leave comment on this site, obviously we didn't get any response,

my friend is so annoyed and upset about this website posting misleading info about his business, and need help to remove this search result for associating with his business address.

he did try talking to local google support team, google said nothing they can do about it

he did spend a lot of time and money in order to get this business running and don't want to be misunderstood by local community, as majority local people will do search for review before visiting his business. Therefore I can imagine how frustrated he is when seeing misleading info. that is related to his biz.

I really appreciate for any constructive suggestions!

In a weird way you need some reputation management.

Personally, I'd get him listed in enough other directories so the "bad" listing gets buried.

What ever actual search was done needs to be analyzed to see how to go about pushing the dirt.

It's possible to get at the very least 9 out of 10 spots on the front page if you have the right plan in place.

Paying to get on other directory listings, ranking pages on the site itself, and some social media like youtube can go a long way.

        Thanks Jill,

My friend has almost 7 days stood up at night and can't sleep just because of this website,

and we just don't know how to burry this site as you suggested. Any guidelines or action plan please.

You are talking two different things,
          web address or business address?

Either way, to the victor go the spoils.

Besides, if and emphasis on IF, he had a legit
healthcare company, he could give a hoot.

I'm thinking this guy runs a massage parlor,
legit or not.....it comes with the territory.

If some clown's address or website is coming up,
          your friend has bigger problems.

Where did he get his current business or web address from?
          Heidi Fleiss?

Yes, not enough details to really give anyway to handle it in specifics. Not to mention the specifics I might have to charge for.

I believe I gave enough terminology above for OP to get it figured out.

Here is a bit more clear picture, when doing a google search on his business address, the adult website with the inappropriate description of his business (not his site) comes up on the google first page result. FYI his business website is at no1 position.

If you could help, please PM me for details.

      Lol, ok.

The goal would be to junk up the SERPs with things that don't really matter like Youtube videos, social accounts, etc... while at the same time not outranking your own domain/page.

Doubtful you'll ever get an offending page removed from the SERPs but they can sometimes be buried by outranking the problem page.

Be upfront Im not that 'clever' to follow the strategy that you suggest

Possibly a step by step approach will be better. ie. spoon feed

Also it's not a funny matter at all at least it's very serious to my friend, he can't sleep, eat..

I still don't know if this is a real problem or not. How many people actually search for the business address to find this company? It's not uncommon to see requests like this, and when you dig a little turns out that the search query is something that only the company owner would even think of.

If your description is accurate what you describe would be illegal in many countries. However, it might not be that easy to identify the perpetrator.

Maybe I can clarify and add to what I was saying and what Yukon added.

When you look up a keyword (ie the address you are talking about) there are going to be "results". Search Engine Result Pages. SERPS.

Your friend looked up his own business address, and saw an undesirable site in the first page of the SERPS.

If you don't want that to appear anymore, you are going to want to get other things on that first page. Enough fresher and better things can push the bad page out of the way. It can get buried back a page or two. Bury it far enough and no one sees it.

Hopefully, your friends address is already one of the pages in the first page result. If not, that is actually the first thing your friend needs to get sorted out.

If there are online directories for the healthcare your friend provides locally, you can contact those business directories and get a listing in them. Those directory pages can help get another spot on the first page of that SERP. Kicks the bad guy down one notch.

Tell your friend to make a quick slide show video about his business with location, etc and stick that up on youtube and SEO optimize it. There is another link back that will advertise your friend and push the bad guy down another notch.

And you keep looking for directories, and other sites to get mentioned on (in a positive way) until you have enough to make the bad listing get buried deep and no one will notice it.

Getting mentioned on other sites is called citations. Tell your friend to do some kind of charity thing or something to get him mentioned in a citation. Lots of these are good for local sites.
        https://moz.com/learn/local/citations

You might be best off hiring someone local to where you are who knows SEO to do this for you if it's too much.

Tell your friend not to freak out. It can all be fixed.

You've been given the basic tools to solve the problem. I told you that it may not be a problem, and that you could take it to the law enforcement even though it may be pointless. Others have told you to create content that push the page out of the first page. Jill Carpenter went through the process, and gave several great examples.

      That's it.

There's no magical push-button solution to this.

If you're not willing to do it yourself hire a reputation management agency. Yes, they may ask for a lot of money, but none of us is going to do it for free.

This is not something I would really worry about. I have never heard of anyone searching for a business by the address.

As others have told you, the best solution is to create other web properties that get found for the same search and outrank that result. In this case, business directories would probably be the option you want to look at because you want something with the address showing up to get searched.

Business directories I think are the best solution as well. Find 10 good ones. Some will be free and some are paid.

On occasion, you can find a submission service that will submit your address to several directories on one shot - but it will likely be several hundred dollars for one of these.

Is there a way to kick that website out of existence?

I understand it's possible to put more relavant links and content to outrank that bad website, but it may take long time to see the effect if not months, apologise for my ignorance. Therefore, an idea come up in my mind if modifying that bad site contents with good one, I believe it must be quicker and easier if I didn't get it too simplistic. However, not sure if it's what other refers as blackhat method?

Alternatively, there are sites you can pay to get that information that you are not seeing in the whois. Then contact them again.

            What shows up? Someone's website?

That means someone's claiming the website's 'owner' 'lives' at that address.

Or that someone in the sex industry used to live at that address.

You can add your guy's address in directories.... lots of them. Is that other 'business' in any directory? You might want to tell those directories that that business no longer 'resides' at that address.

And create lots and lots of pages optimized for that address (like 40) and rank them higher than the site you don't like.

              Thanks DABK,

It's kind of site dedicated for adult biz advertising service, however, it may not receiving any fees from those business runners, as this site just listing out all healthcare related businesses and with a post about each of those, adding with pictures available from google, and an excerpt from the origin website and few others creative wordings about adult business.

Then it ask business owner to claim if it's their spot for money, that's the worst part. Forcing to pay!!

Even my friend has contacted this website via its contact email, no reply back to agree removing the listing in that bad website.

We feel its not fair for us to pay for this kind of advertising as it's damaging his business reputation and listed without our permission.

He's freaking out last few weeks and if his condition is getting worst he may need to stay in hospital for appropriate care..

                  The nameservers...

Doubtful you will ever find a person behind privacy protection, especially a scraper in India.

                    This.

If I didn't make it clear enough, there's probably not much that police, Google or some other 3rd party can or are willing do for you. Even if this line of action was successful it might take months to get anywhere. If someone is acting maliciously and engaging in what's probably a criminal act they're probably trying to cover their tracks.

There is an option available in the Google Search Console with the help of which you are able to remove the links from search engine result pages.

      Thanks tekruiter

Could you elaborate more of how to do it? Do I need an ad account with Google in order to do that?

Lol, the WMT disavow tool will not remove a ranked page from the SERPs.

That is a lie. You cannot remove someone else's page from the SERPs.

None of them, as previous commenters pointed out.

You can also try to make an abuse claim against the site, but out of the suggestions in this thread this is probably the least likely to affect anything.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

            What's your excuse?

I guess it's just me....I have searched google (and do) for an address, because I know that google maps will pop up with the address mapped.....go figure.

Easier to just google it....I use google for more answers as well.

Anyway, like I said....if a massage parlor was at that address.....

Hey! Talk about a "bad" neighborhood! ROTFLMAO!

2 time loser on that one!

No, there is not. We already dealt with this ludicrous claim. Stop BSing people.

Help Please - To remove links related to my friends' business from google search result
I'm sure the problem is some folks are only reading the thread page title & think OP wants to remove his own links pointing at his own domain (AKA disavow tool).

    Carry on with the confusion...

Could I give you a 20 spot to go remove a million or so links to amazon today?

I agree that burying is the best option. It will be really good actually for the OP's site as well.

612chan, try doing this today if you are not going to bother finding a local seo company to do some reputation management.

Found a nice little site here with a PDF.

The Online Reputation Management Guide | Outspoken Media

What should you do about those problems? Seek professional
        online reputation management
        services
if you don't already have someone that can effectively fix the situation
This guide looks pretty good actually. It' going to cover a lot of what you need to be looking at if you think you want to fix this problem yourself.

I in no way can go through how to do everything listed on that guide to walk you through the whole process. I won't do it, lol. This is why people get paid to do this. It's not hard, but it is time consuming.

And do a search for health directory + your city. See if you are listed or want to be listed on all the results on that page. You will likely have to pay for a lot of these to get a listing.

If you do decide to take this on yourself, be sure to use the search functions on this forum and off to google for answers and how-to's. Use youtube to find answers too.

        Good luck.

          Thank Jill,

You really help me a lot.

If you don't mind please give me an offer to implement this for my friend, I meant it and my friend is happy to pay for your efforts.

By the way, he's a bit weird today and mumbling all the time, I am not sure if he may need to see doctor .
