New Google Algorithm Rolled out?

Hi Guys,

I'm wondering if anyone has caught wind of an update to Google's Penguin algorithm being rolled out yet?

The reason I ask is because I was doing our monthly keyword rankings check and noticed a specific keyword was ranking 30th. My colleague then double-checked about an hour later and said that it was actually ranking 32nd. So I went back and checked all of the keywords and a lot of them had changed position.

Then this morning I re-checked the aforementioned specific keyword and it's position had changed to 29th. Could this be a real-time search result update?

It has nothing to do with my browser settings as I checked all of that.

    You're not actually ranked for traffic If it's page #3 on the SERPs.

    • Can you explain what you mean?

      I'm not talking about the traffic, it's more about the fact that we're changing positions nearly on an hourly basis - the guys over at searchengineland reported back in December that this could be the next Google update -

      "The next Penguin update is expected to be real-time, meaning as soon as Google discovers the links to your site, be they bad or good links, the Penguin algorithm will analyze those links in real time, and ranking changes should happen in almost real time."
