So, I'm doing some competitive research in a niche. I find a site, it seems a bit unprofessional but it has a bunch of content. Over 600 posts.
How does this happen? Wow.

So, I'm doing some competitive research in a niche.
I find a site, it seems a bit unprofessional but it has a bunch of content. Over 600 posts.
98% of the posts are not properly targeting keywords. The title and h1 usually don't have any keywords, it's like a phrase or a question, like they're completely avoiding any usage of keywords until the body of the content.
The site has backlinks from 9 domains... That's all. Nine... This includes some domain tool websites that are automatically generated.
It's not really ranking for anything, a few random keywords here and there...
Wow. I don't really even know what to say. It's like every single mistake that could be made rolled up into one giant pile of poop. Edit: Well, they didn't spam links and get penalized at least...
I thought the site was penalized initially, but no, they just have absolutely no idea what SEO is. None. Zero SEO... Nothing...
