Few years before, Google page rank was most important factor for all internet users. But Google has changed his strategy and they start focusing on search result and they stopped to update page rank toolbar. Now internet users must need some factor to check site's popularity. At that time SEOMoz has launched his Domain authority checker and Majestic SEO has launched two new metrics which is trust flow and citation flow.

Citation flow predicts how influential a site's URL might be based on the number of sites linked to it. For citation flow there is no matter about quality of links. IF you want to increase your site's citation flow then you will have to increase your site's backlink. Citation flow is always depends on trust flow, if trust flow will increase then citation flow should also increase. But if citation flow will increase then trust flow may OR may not be increase.

Here point to be remember is that if sites with high citation flow link to your site then you will get high citation flow with some links immediately, this rule also applicable for trust flow, if your sites with high trust flow link to your site then you will get high TF with few links. Since Trust flow depends on quality of links.

So, if you want to increase your site's TF then build links with High TF Site

    Nice hidden link, mate.

Pagerank is still the most important single factor. Google just doesn't update the score. Trust Flow is a 3rd party metric that you can use instead, but "increasing Trust Flow" isn't a goal that should be on your todo list.

Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

Well, pagerank isn't updated anymore as you said it yourself. So now -- I would really doubt
that it's single and most important factor...

Let's say a domain had PR6 a couple of years ago. Time passed and due to no-update it's still PR6, BUT all other metrics like DA, PA, TF and etc. have dropped significantly.

So would you say that the domain is still VERY valuable as it was 2 years ago?

I was a bit vague, but everyone should know at this point that they stopped updating the publicly visible score (aka toolbar). PR is still at the heart of the algo. I've said this dozens of times on this forum.

Why would I say such an asinine thing? If you want to rail against stupid beliefs about PR feel free to do so, but don't do it by putting words into my mouth.

It's okay, I'm not putting words into your mouth.
From your post I just thought that according to you -- visible PR metric is single and most important factor.

          Peace.

The publicly visible number has never been a factor. It's just a score that Google used to update every now and then.

Yes, I would still call the actual Pagerank (ie. backlinks) the single most important factor.

Totally agree! I just misunderstood you and thought that all that matters is that "little green bar" which is no longer updated. : )

The OP is nuts. Period. End of story.

The clown touts some bogus metric like "trust flow."

Then spams his link about checking.....trust flow!

Well, when I was in the Navy, they had a saying....$#@! flows downhill.

The OP's own trust flow will flow downhill as he's spamming his links.

This thread will lead to the downflow of trust for his spam site.

I have a new metric: Flush Flow

It is directly proportional for the amount of useless threads started to spam one's link.

No idea why people chase silly SEO metrics like TF.

Focus on producing useful/engaging content and building an audience.
