Article directory - one already in the serps

I found some good keywords that I am going to use for some article marketing. The problem is that on the first page of the serps there is an article from ezine ranked for that keyword.

Would it be harder for me to rank my article for that keyword in ezine, giving that an ezine article is already on the first page of the serps?

Should I promote my articles on another article directory more heavily, like goarticles?

I gotta say your question is the most original question about article marketing I've seen here on WF in a long while. Well I don't actually have the answer right now but here's an example of multiple pages from ezinearticles ranking on 1st result page. Google

I think targeting 1 keyword using multiple pages of one same website would make it hard for rest of the pages after 1st page has already been ranked on top in SERPs but I am just speculating here I'll try to look for an answer though...

I could try a different directory. Most (notice I said "most" times) Google will not index multiple articles from the same site using the same keywords.

You could also try placing your content on Scribd, Hubpages, Squidoo, or ehow for Page 1 rankings.

Don't let something like that stop you!! You could out rank it!! Bookmark it, RSS feed it, build backlinks to it. If you have a site put it on your site first and then put a link to your site in the resource box of your article. Post it on more than one article directory too! Don't let just that one article stop you!!!

    I say go for it!!

use another directory, or a niche directory if possible and out link the ranking EZA article and you can knock it off the serps

For me it's very hard for me to post on Ezine, I myself also don't know why?

Go find a real article directory that is not a complete glorified ad sense site.... Would not waste my time wondering why...

They are ok but the approval times is unreal .... To be honest I very rarely see iSnare in search results... Does not mean they are not in there but I have not seen them very often. Should you post to them ? Yes, you should...

There are many good article directories just many make the huge mistake of posting to the top 10 (as they call them, not my opinion) and building all the backlinks to those article directories... They never think about installing a 2nd blog and building all the backlinks to that blog ...

Bottom line is you should be posting to hundreds of article directories though .... Again for the 1,000th time most of this is posted on this thread - http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...eza-first.html
