I had a friend who knows what I do on the internet asked me the other day if I thought Google really gave me the answers to what I was looking for when I did a search, I asked him why. He said he wanted to find information about how to find a hotel in Europe and that was exactly what he typed in to google. However he said for every site that gave him very little information on the subject there was 9 sites on each results page that was nothing but hotel booking sites. He said each booking site said nothing about how to anything, they were all just fill in your dates and city and that was it.
How Google really works

So I looked and he was correct, which made it difficult for him to find what he wanted, with that in mind how do we as marketers target our customers since everyone says find out what problem they have and give them a solution.
But how can we give them a solution if Google can't even send them to sites with the answers to there question because everything is dominated with giant sales sites.
What do you really find when you are looking for something, do you get what you are looking for right away or do you have to go in 5 pages deep to get a site that has the answer that also sells you a solution.
