Hi guys

I've targeted a keyword that I want to setup a blog for. After checking on domain availability for the keywords, most of the good extensions are taken. However, I was thinking of using the keywords and just adding "blog" to the end of it. Will this be ok or what what you suggest for seo?

Well then try to think again of a new keyword.

You already tried it so you can do it all over again.

Think of something that is too mainstream but still unique in its way. You can do it.

    Be creative. Be original.

Is it important to still keep the core keywords in the domain name that I will be trying to rank my site for?

Adding an extra word in the domain name will work fine. Also don't be afraid of extensions like .io,.me,.co ect... They all work great these days.

It's ok to add a "blog" to the end of your string for a domain name. However, it would be nice to firstly check the .com domains, but other alternatives may also work good enough.

Its not a good idea that you will add "blog" on your main keyword just because your main domain keyword is taken, try to find another keyword and check it first if the domain is available.

Are you asking does EMD (exact match domain) still matter these days?

The answer is no. Or yes, but very little.

domain name should be catchy, simple, and easy to remember. Remember that people will need to type in your domain name. You should therefore take into account potential misspellings and keep it short to avoid typos.
