Hi guys, I am working on the coffee niche and have a site dedicated to coffee tips, coffee gears etc. Recently I published a content '12 best french press coffee makers' targeting th keyword 'best french press coffee maker'. I built 2-3 links from forums and 2-3 from social sites and the page now ranks at 4th page on google. The post was published on 12th March and the content is of approximately 1800 words and so, it's not thin. What should I do more to rank better? Should I have to wait more or need to do more optimization?

I would say you simply need more links to rank higher in serp for the keyword. There are better links than forum and social sites. Normally I would suggest outreach but I don't think it would work well for pages with a lot of affiliate links.

What do you mean by 'outreach'? And well, affiliate links are under my control here!

Advertise your content. Either contact people who you think would be willing to link to your piece, try posting it to link aggregators such as Reddit, or try something like FB Ads. Nobody is going to find your article from the fourth page, so you need to reach out.

If you're even moderately successful this will also help you in the long run. The backlinks you describe are garbage. You need better backlinks.

Your article is ok. Not great, but not too bad either. I get the feeling that you've not actually touched any of the products, but then again I'm fairly skeptical whenever I see an article with that many Amazon links. I'm not much of a coffee connoisseur, but claiming that something like Bodum's generic press would be near the top for "best of 2016" doesn't sound right to me.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

        What's your excuse?

So the article should be more longer to get some more authority!

I've slightly moderated the content and made to more thick and now it's 2500 words above. Size options and color options are also added to each of the product and i think it looks better now.

Its too early to rank better but consider first establishing your site in time.
A content that approximately 1800 words is not considered as quality because 1800 words or more can be poor or thin so don't take it as a measurement.

Make your web page a trusted source to the users because established sites within the related field earned its position. However, it will take time. Consider first your audience before creating a new and interesting content.

Forum link building is not going to get you anywhere. Try to get links from coffee machine blogs. They will rocket your SERPS!

Look I think you have to do two thinks.
1 Check if there any things left behind in your on page optimization.
2 After finishing your on page optimization for that page try to build few high quality backlinks
Social bookmarking, blog comenting, contexual liknk etc) to that page.

This is my strategy, try it!

    1) build a lot of good content.
    2) Wait.
    3) see which page google likes.
    4) build the links to that particular page!

It is much easier to move the page to number 3 if it is already on number 23, right?

Its good that your page rank is 4th as you achieved it within very less time. Yes, there are ways through which you can improve and increase your page rank. Try to build backlinks to the pages within your site which is getting less page rank. Also as your content is related to coefee, try to put some long tail keywords at your first page so that users would find it more informative.
Content: Focus on producing more unique content and put relevant content that is linkable to the readers.
