Google organic search and Amazon affiliate links - are there going to be issues?

Here is my scenario guys. I have a completely new (1 month old) generic site about a similar set of activities:

- Each inner page is dedicated to a certain activity.
- Each inner page has good on page SEO and is ranking on decent positions considering the site is new and i haven't yet began to seriously build backlinks to it.
- Some of these pages i was thinking of monetizing with Amazon affiliate links in this manner:
A. insert generic sell text somewhere on page: "If you like this [X activity] and would like to buy this [X related product] you can check it out here:"
B. insert a well visible "button.jpg" image underneath, hyperlinked to one of my amazon affiliate links.

There are 4 questions that arise and I would like one of you SEO gurus to enlighten me if you can, because I do not have the knowledge:

1. Will google ruin that page's organic ranking position? (I have read somewhere that google hates affiliate links. I have done a good job at on-page-SEO for these pages. Will adding a "button.jpg" amazon button somewhere on the page and the "check it out here" text destroy my organic position of those pages?)
2. Should these "button.jpg" hyperlinks to the Amazon affiliate links be "nofollow" ?
3. Should i use Bitly or TinyURL to shorten these Amazon affiliate links so that Google Crawlers do not recognize them when they crawl my page?
4. Or should I just make one separate "[Generic Buy PRODUCTS]" page that contains all the products, and then make do-follow in-links from my different pages to this one single lame affiliate page? example: if you like [X activity] and you want to try it out check out the [Generic Buy PRODUCTS] page.

Why did i ask all this?
Because right now i am having the [Generic Buy PRODUCTS] page with in-links from the other site-pages to it. As I told you, my other pages are ranking ok.

But I am thinking that linking with a visible clickable and tasty "Buy on amazon" button on each page will convert way more than having some text links to the one single sell page (or even worse cos in my case my strategy is actually "check videos page" and under each video i have "check generic buy products page" - so it is two clicks away to get to my sell page).

But in the process of adding these buttons I don't want to destroy my organic search positions. Please advise me and answer each of the 4 questions above. I would really like to know this for the long run. Much appreciated !

Google does not hate affillate links, thats a myth. Why would they? People are in the market to buy, google wants relevant search results so it has to provide a means of letting people who provide search results to be paid for their efforts.

Make the content GOOD, UNIQUE and RELEVENT.

    2. Should these "button.jpg" hyperlinks to the Amazon affiliate links be "nofollow" ?

Buttons are a pain to manage. I use text links like "click here to see more" NOFOLLOW ALL OUTBOUND LINKS

    3. Should i use Bitly or TinyURL to shorten these Amazon affiliate links so that Google Crawlers do not recognized them when they crawl my page?

Nope, the only reason you would want to shorten is if you were using twitter. Nothing to fear from having links on your page, don't go overboard 1 link per 100 words posted is not unreasonable.

    4. Or should I just make one separate "[Generic Buy PRODUCTS]" page that contains all the products, and then make do-follow in-links from my different pages to this one single lame affiliate page? example: if you like [X activity] and you want to try it out check out the [Generic Buy PRODUCTS] page.

NO DO NOT DO A GENERIC PAGE. This will kill SEO. What I tend to do is create a category page with lots of products on and a few words about each. These are linked to a full product page.

    1. Google does not hate affiliate links, they hate marketers who spam up their pages with crappy, doorway sites, that are not helpful to searchers.

    2. No need, Google knows how to treat Amz links

    3. NEVER use third party link shorteners for long-term affiliate links, they get used by spammers and are sometimes blacklisted, you want 100% control over your links at all times.

    3. It is against AMZ TOS to mess around with their links, don't do it or you will get banned.

    4. Insert Amz links naturally, where they fit into your content and link to them directly, unless you want to a proper review, in which case link to that, and from there on to AMZ.

Maybe add a comparison table of top 3/5 products, go easy on the AMZ links per page though.

How are you monetizing the page now? With nothing?

Google does not hate affiliate links.

Even if you thought they did, amazon is not the kind of affiliate people have in mind when they make that mindless statement.

Does not amazon provide the iframe code?

If someone wants to buy something....and they search that way, and google thinks they are looking for that...

Does it not make sense to send people to a page where they can actually buy the crazy thing?

You have no clue as to what url shorteners do. They do not hide the ending page, unless you use 8 url shorteners in a row.

As a side note....why would you use a url shortener on twitter? It's built in!

Thank you everybody for your great output! I now know what i have to do. - There will be one affiliate link per page since it is safe for google and relevant to my topics of discussion. The links will be with a "button.jpg" because my platform is wordpress and it is easy to insert a .jpg buttton that says "Buy on amazon"
