Hello everyone,

I currently have a site I have been working on Home renovations and tools, I'm new to creating a site and I'm learning seo tactics as I go. If possible can you look over my site and advise me on problems that you notice to help improve user experience. Any advise is welcome and appreciated, I'm willing to learn and improve from your experience.

Thanks a lot for your time and patience.

Chris

I've made the site on ehost.com site building program. I don't know why that website (ismysiteindexed) shows me linking to porn sites. Is there a way to fix this problem?

As a first site it doesn't look so bad! If the content is NOT UNIQUE, you should really rewrite it, if it's, it is OK! About the Off-Page SEO, start with sharing links in Social Media sites. I also checked that you have a link to Youtube, but not to your channel/ video, but to the homepage. Then this link is USELESS!

It's a static page, so you can't add new content easily (*like a blog!), so you should build backlinks regularly to your inner pages!

The site looks good for starting out. I would suggest to install Wordpress and upload your site this way, as Wordpress is an easier platform to do SEO in the long term. There are so many helpful plugins to help with boosting SEO rankings for different keywords you are targeting. There's also many Wordpress themes (templates) for you to play around with, which will give your site a more professional look.

Thanks for the replys I very much appreciate it!

My content is all unique, I do write ups on diy renovation projects I do at home. I have removed the YouTube link from my site, since i don't have one it really is useless. Now the editor program I'm using on ehost does have a section were i can start a blog within my website, would this be beneficial?

I'm not sure how to transfer my site to word press, I know ehost has something called cpanel where wordpress is available, but at the time it looked complicated and was more money. Is there a way to transfer my website to wordpress without it being to difficult?

    Thanks!

I would not necessarily suggest that, and I'm a WordPress site builder. WordPress doesn't have much SEO functionality built-in, and any reasonably well-made CMS or platform is on the same level. At this point I'd concentrate on content and backlinks. If you want to switch CMSes it's something you can do later on.

Messing around with themes is not the way to get a professional look. This approach may lead to your site looking amateurish or something from a stock template. You should first plan the look at least on some level, and then try to get it done.

I've had clients who use the a drag and drop site building tool that's well-known on this market. The sites are not flashy, but they get the job done.

However, the template you're using is not particularly good. The site structure is a mess, and navigation is just sort of weird. I don't get why there's these weird page numbers in the bottom. Ad placements are pretty confusing. I'd try to get the template to work first, and slap ads to it after that.

Can you write a piece that is interesting to your audience? Or do you know someone who can, and is outsourcing within your budget?

Just publishing a blog doesn't do that much. You've got to get the articles in front of potential audience or buyers. Often that involves some advertising, social media or something else.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

oh jeez i didn't think my site layout was that bad, I actually like it lol. It might be that i'm using a widescreen laptop to view it and it may not appear correctly otherwise, I'm not sure what numbers on the bottom of the page you are referring too. I'm new to ad placements so I'm still working out what works and where to place them. Another question is I've noticed a lot of articles on fiverr that offer to create backlinks for sites for a small fee, are these links worth it or dangerous to use when trying to rank higher?
