Bought a domain name similar to the business I'm an affiliate for....now what?

Hey everyone, I'm still new to the affiliate marketing space and I'm using trial-and-error to bring in my first few sales.

I'm an affiliate of a fitness workout plan business online. I was playing around on godaddy.com the other day and was able to buy the .info domain name for this business:

Ex. (hypothetical) The business's primary domain name is apple.com, and I bought apple.info

This was an impulse buy (but it was only $3 for the whole year !!) but I figured that this domain may help with SEO if I decide to build a blog or sales page for my affiliate links.

What do you guys think and what would you do next? Did I waste $3 or do I have something that could be valuable?

Thanks!

Odds are the product/business where you're an affiliate states in their TOS that you can't violate/impersonate their brand/trademark.

      Yukon is right.
You should be aware of that.

I think the best thing to do next is to build a good blog around that particular "niche" with good content.

    Sounds more like ready-fire-aim .

"I didn't know" won't save you if you violate copyright or infringe on trademark. You don't usually get a second chance if you violate the terms and conditions of affiliate programs.

You could be a good content with this domain. However, you need to be sure first if the merchant is okay with you having this domain name. Check the affiliate rules and regulations, some of these have "you need to disclose your promotional strategies," contact them first. Atleast, you made it clear from the start so that all your future efforts wouldn't be in vain.

    Goodluck!
