Technical SEO/IIS/Https Admin Question

HI there - hopefully some genius can help me with this issue that's really frustrating me right now.

I was running an IIS6 web server with multiple sites using host headers. I wanted to set up a new site and thought it would be a good idea to run over SSL from the start. The required functionality was for both non-www and non https to redirect to https://www.acme.com

Couldn't quite get the site up and running with the redirects I wanted so bought a new IIS 7.5 server and got the site and redirects set up well (one SSL site per IP).

The problem I have is that whilst I was running the site on the IIS 6 server Google has indexed all the pages using another site that happened to be on the same IP on the old server. So now if I Google "Acme" I get listings such as https://arandomunconnectedsite.com

This is bad especially as the sites are totally unconnected.

https://arandomunconnectedsite.com used to resolve to the new sites content but now does not. I thought Google would work it out eventually especially as I've uploaded a sitemap for the new site in webmaster tools. Google has 5 pages in the sitemap but only indexed 1 of them.

Any ideas?

Either the redirects work or they don't.

Check the webpage/s http header code & see If it's actually showing a 301 or 302.

Also test from another browser or at least logout of your admin & clear the browser cache/cookies before checking the http status code to make sure a cache isn't messing with you.

I'll bet $20 it's your browser's cache and it was working fine at some point while you were fiddling with things.

$20, Let Me Know, Have PayPal, thanks.

The redirects on ACME work fine. There is no redirect on https://arandomunconnectedsite.com. It has no ssl cert associated with it so it just fails. It's not a caching issue (I'll send you my paypal for the 20$)

I hope you realize as technical as your question is, without having access to the admin all anyone can do is guess.

It's like telling an auto mechanic over the phone your car is making a weird noise, you don't want him to see or touch the car, just make a guess with the correct answer.

Damn, my crystal ball rarely fails.

Wait I'm also a bit confused, you're trying to get https to work without a cert? Like ... What? ...

Lets break this down a bit.

#1 What are you trying to accomplish, be specific; "https;//www.myrealdomain.com, I want to blah."

#2 What is the problem; "Google is indexing http;//www.thisothersite.com, instead of mine."

#3 Give us real info, I actually thought acme was your real site and was running tests on it, scratching my head thinking "da faq is this person talking about?" If you can't do that, I suggest you go to IIS specific forums, or find an IIS specialist on a freelancing site.
