Google indexing Meta Tile incorrectly for home page

I have a site thats about 7 weeks old. I used all in one SEO plugin to set the site meta title as plumber luton-harold jones ltd but

google has indexed the home page as harold jones ltd: plumber luton (ie the wrong way around) - it should say plumber luton-harold jones ltd

BUT all other pages are correct eg:

our services| plumber luton-harold jones ltd
contact | plumber luton-harold jones ltd

etc etc

any idea why this is and will it impact the rankings for KW plumber luton, which, should generaly be at the beginning of the metatitle to rank best from my experience

    Google does not use meta title and nothing else does either.

    Meta title has not been used in almost 20 years.

    So if you are indeed setting "meta title," get a grip on reality.

    Ditch wordpress, seo plugins, get a real website,
    and use the current title tag that matters.

    Any other seo wannabe who has no clue about
    meta and title, needs to actually learn things.

    Branded anchors/citations should fix that. Make sure you have it the correct way in the title tag, not the meta title.

    7 Weeks? Dude, I've got 10 new sites that are getting absolutely molested by sandbox 2.0. I wouldn't be too worried at this point.

    The new sandbox is maddening, I actually gave up on those sites for awhile, came back to them, gave up on them again, got 5 domains I won at auction (they didn't drop) built sites on them, got those sites going, then came back to the new domains and gave up again yesterday. These domains are all 3-4 months old. They got their initial rank, I lightly built a few links, they start dancing (pretty normal) and they either dump to page 10-25 and get stuck, or they dance out of the index entirely. It's so insanely frustrating.

    Still not completely sure what to do, do I work on existing sites (I have plenty to keep me busy there...) and wait for this nonsense to stop, or do I build those sites as normal and just pretend my stats are normal.

      Actually I think about half of the people who post on WF, who actually know what they're talking about have posted in this thread. Edit: and there was a few nonsense spam posts as well.

      Also, this is a forum, we are not an SEO agency. You are not our boss, to us, you are not a client. If you want an SEO agency to tell you the same thing we told you in this thread, then go find one.

      I recommend you read the thread personally and also understand this concept: Google does not exist to make you money.
