Who Wants To Get On The First Page Of Google?

Hey Ethan...

This is not meant to be critical, so please don't take it that way.

It seems to me that the "units sold" figure in JVZoo for any product represents all sales, regardless of the traffic source (i.e. YouTube, google, Bing, Yahoo, affiliate blogs, and/or even email marketing).

If, in fact, the bulk of sales are the result of using direct marketing techniques, is there really any reason to expect that a #1 ranking for your video in Google is of any value at all? It seems to me that you really would need to take into consideration the number of searches against your keyword phrase, before putting in the effort to create one or more videos for a product.

Also, when I search in Google for "live spokesperson fe" (with/without the quotes) your video is nowhere to be found. Of course I'm not logged into your Google account.

What am I missing?

Scratching head. All I know is some people on this forum seem to like posting youtube video tuts on things that they don't really have a clue about. A recent "plr image video" thread that was pulled comes to mind... I do believe that was your thread, correct?

No, it's not in the top spot, it's not even close. That's the exact same phrase that Sid and I used when we checked your ranking. Try logging out of google and/or a using a proxy from another location and check your ranking with fresh cookies and cache.

Here are the first four pages of listings --> and the only thing that turns up is Griff's #1 ranking, some affiliate listings, and Sid's excellent post on this thread that also mentioned your video is nowhere to be seen in the Google results.

The only negative that I see here --> at this point in time, your so-called #1 ranked video is basically nowhere to be seen on Google just a few hours after you posted this thread. Staying power? Ranking? I guess another one bites the dust....

I don't think anyone was trying to "shoot you down", or being negative, but...
the method either works, or it doesn't. If it doesn't work, pointing it out can save a lot of other people a considerable amount of time.

It's sitting in the first spot in YOUR search results.

What I, and ForumGuru, were pointing out is that your search results are being affected by your previous search history - in spite of the fact that you had logged out of your Google account

BTW - Besides trying with/without the quotes for exact "All" results, I also tried searching just "Videos" both ways. Still no luck.

I'm sure you're right about that (couple of sales).

It's a horrible keyword from a buyer traffic POV. Matter of fact it's such a horrible keyword that Google SERPs doesn't even return a list of suggested search phrases (Google is like, WTH is this (FE?)?).

Better keywords for SEO would be targeting the subject of the product, not the product name/title, unless everyone and their brother already knew about the product (ex: iphone) but that's sure as heck not happening with this keyword (live spokesperson fe).

FE is part of the product title (you should have known that if you watched the video), and several of us have indicated that we did, indeed, use the full keyword phrase.

Just the addition of that acronym in the keyword phrase "should" (IMHO) make it a very easy phrase to rank for when searching for "exact match".

And I have to agree with you on this point... except that I would acknowledge that there is probably some minimal amount of benefit to being able to rank well for the exact name of a product (i.e. a trademarked name).

My arguments have not supported (nor disagreed with) his choice of keyword phrase, but have centered only on the fact that the results he was seeing were NOT congruent with what the rest of the world sees when they search using the same keyword phrase.

Earlier today I was testing some old video downloaders on several of my browsers today...scrapped 'em all and grabbed what I needed for posterity with AVC(free).

Dude must make some affiliate sales, but I checked his history at JVZoo and all I saw there was roughly a dozen products with zero sales. I dunno what that's all about, but maybe he can shoot us a screenshot of his JVZoo live spokesperson fe affiliate sales to put a lid on this thread.

My final update: The OP's live spokesperson fe video has received a grand total 46 views in 15 days --> which includes the the click I just made, and eight or nine clicks I made prior to today. The OP said he initially ran 5 or 6 views himself to rank the video...he also stated that he liked using the product title keyphrase because he thought it was getting/would get traffic on Google and Youtube.

Yeah, and this thread has roughly 2000 views...

Anyway, I believe track record matters.

After the thread title caught my attention...I opened it and noticed it was another tutorial vid by E.P.

Have I seen a tut vid done by the OP before? Yup, I saw one, this horrible 3:25 minutes of misinformation that is incorrect, incomplete, and dangerous.

The guy knows little to nothing about copyrights, royalty free image licenses, creative commons licenses, public domain images, private label rights images, rights managed image licenses, model releases, property releases, google image search, fair use, image use in general etc. etc. --> but yet we get a "finding PLR images" tut video from him. LMFAO ---> Go figure....

The thread was pulled but the video remains.

Sooooo...armed with the knowledge that the first EP tut vid that I have personally watched here on WF was dangerous nonsense (as you can clearly see), I checked the search listings (as several others did) for the vid mentioned here, and then posted the search screenshots...I posted the view count screenshot after the OP told me the traffic to the video was surging.

I'm not convinced that this thread is an exercise in negativity or unhappiness.

Clear your cache, too. Better yet, use a tool or someone else's computer. Just signing out of Google doesn't mean Google isn't showing you results based on what you clicked on before.

But, the main thing is this: I can make a video, call it DABK Is The Most Intelligent Cappucino Cup Cake and have it rank #1 for DABK is tne Most Intelligent Cappucino Cup Cake within seconds.

You really think because that keyword only gets a few searches that it proves your point?

It only proves that you are only interested in making a point.

His keyword is not the only product keyword in the entire world. His strategy can be used for new products that get a lot of searches.

But I guess these facts don't matter since they don't fit your narratives.

It's truly sad, that you find a need to act like that.

You want to destroy the OP's original point that you can rank videos an get traffic by simply stating his video is not ranking.

If you can prove that no video can rank using his method, then you would have a point.

The point the OP is trying to make is that you can make money from product launches by ranking keywords for products.

The point the OP is trying to make is that you can make money from product launches by ranking keywords for products.

That's the point!

And if you did not know this method actually makes people money, then it really shows how ignorant you are to this subject.

But this does not matter to you trollers because you are not reading these threads for the information they may provide, you are reading them to try to debunk them.

Even if you arguments are irrelevant because the miss the bigger point, it does not matter to you because you are here to make any argument you can to bring people down to your level.

I think you are missing the point. The example he shows is a failure. Forget about the rankings. Look at the video views of that video. Nobody is watching it which means it is getting no traffic.

Most people know that you can rank a video for keyword for a fairly new product that is launching or just launched and you likely will not have a ton of competition. Where the OP fails miserably is in picking an effective keyword to target (as shown by the video views), which is kind of the key to making the whole thing go. You really cannot just go into the Keyword Planner and find keywords because you are targeting newly launched products.

The whole tactic revolves around picking the right products and keywords, and it appears the OP did neither one well. That gives the impression that he is rehashing someone else's tactic that he does not really even totally understand.

That is why he is getting the hate.

I'm not speaking for any others here. Look at my comment. What the OP posted is not working. That was my point.

I understand the technique. I have used it. The OP failed at the most important part of it though which is identifying a market and keyword that works.

Do you get that? Do you have a retort to that, or do you want to just keep railing on me for pointing out that the OP posted a really bad example which makes me question if he even understands the point he is trying to get across?
