I have a two column wp blog with alexa ranking of about 220,000 which give a reasonable amount of traffic.

After two weeks of split testing I notice most of affiliates sales originate from my review page. I also have 3 images which are hyperlinked to clickbank's vendors on the sidebar (top right hand corner) which attract a clickthroughs of between 30 to 60 daily but have not contribute to any sales so far.

I am toying the idea of monetize the three affiliates images using Adsense (image). Can anyone share how to go about it.

(1) What wordpress plugin do I require?
(2) How to make sure that I can get the specific vendor (such as fat loss 4 idiots) appear on the side bar (top right hand). I am only interested in three specific clickbank vendors (fat loss 4 idiots is one of them). According to my research the CPC range from $1.50 to $4.50

Any advices/suggestions will be appreciated.

    Hi steveniam,

I found you post a little confusing. You mentioned that you want to target Clickbank offers, but you also mention you want to use AdSense. You don't need AdSense to target Clickbank offers. Just sign up with Clickbank and place ads for whatever offers you want to promote anywhere you want on your page. There is no need to involve AdSense.

As an AdSense Publisher you place ad blocks wherever you want them on you page and AdSense will auction off the space. You don't get to decide which ads go on there, that is the advertiser's option not yours. Most ads will be chosen by the AdSense algorithm or advertisers that specifically target your website.

As far as placing ads on your Worpress blog, you can do it several different ways. Manually add to individual posts, modify your template or use a plugin. You can find Themes with ad blocks built in or search for Ad management plugins and you will find many.

I am targeting at Clickbank offer. However all the conversion orginate from the review page. For the clickbank offer on the sidebar (top right hand), there are clickthrough but it does not convert to sales.

I am thinking of monetize these clickthroughs by using Adsense as I notice that CPC range from $1.50 to about $5.

I am thinking of using Adsense (images) as most of them are from the vendors and not affiliates and it will be easier to get the specific vendors I want in order to maintain the clickthrough on the sidebar.

  • Steve,

You're still not making complete sense. It sounds like you're trying to say you want to replace your Clickbank banner ads with Adsense image ads. If that's what you mean, yes you can certainly do that. However you cannot specify which vendors ads will show, though you can exclude sites that you don't want displayed.

    Hope that helps~

I am trying to replace my banner images on the sidebar which are hyperlinked to the three clickbank's vendors. These banner images are getting clickthroughs but no conversion.

If I am able to replace similar Adsense images for the three vendors I am able to get some money for the clickthroughs.

As most people will understand I am not paid for clickthroughs by the vendors (Clickbank) unless it result in sales. However if it is a Adsense images I will be paid for the clickthroughs especially the CPC for these vendors range from $1.50 to about $5.

Hope this will make sense to you.

If your review page is getting you sales (which means that you have a good presell), why don't you redirect the banner images (or create a banner) to your review page so that the visitors could see your page before they go to the merchant?

My banner images are on the sidebar of the review page. Those motivated to buy would have click on one of the hyperlink on the review page.

Those who are not ready to buy may just click on the banner images on the sidebar. I am trying to monetize on those people who like to click on the banner images with no intention to make a purchase.

Makes perfect sense to me and is easy to do. Simply remove the CB links, and replace them with an adsense block.

It sounds like a good idea to me given that those CB links arent converting anyway.
