How to ask for a link to a blogger if I have linked to his site or a specific post?
What if he din't noticed that I have linked to him or mentioned him in a post?
Should I mail him telling that I have linked to him and then ask for a link.

Mail Him, Use his website contact form. If he didn't reply, look up his website admin contact then make a call.

Find his name on the same website.
Search him on social Media and PM.
Almost of Bloggers won LinkedIn profile contact him.

Linking to him then asking for a link is daft.

If you want someone to link to you, offer them money. Simple.

You linking to me is no reason for me to link to you.

You linking to me for a site I consider useful to me is.

Seems like you're doing link exchanges without first asking if they're interested.

That's like planning your wedding before you even said Hi for the first time to the lady.

Hey, actually it would be beneficial if have linked to the blogger in the past if I am asking for a link.
And i will be adding that only if you like the content then only link to it.
Let me know if you have any other strategy and will this strategy work or not. If not, please explain.
A few bullet points would be enough.

The strategy is daft. Silly. Inane.

You linking to a blog is beneficial...for who? Him?

        Stop linking to other blogs.

Stop asking them for a link.

Find a real website and ask to pay for a link.

Better still, find a link broker.

You can't get anywhere by doing what you are doing, unless going backwards is an improvement.

Wow...for all the complaining people do against newbs. This is just awful. One of the worst posts of the year. Link outreach is a common practice in white hat SEO. The idea that every link acquired this way must involve cash is just asinine particularly among bloggers. Apparently you think all blog rolls are paid links.

He's not a noob. He's been doing it for awhile.

            Same thing, same result.

            Stop the insanity.

You can either do this stuff right, the first time, or....well, go on with your bad self.

It is a common practice. I friggin get spammed...er...contacted all the time about people linking to them....oh because they just love my site and pages....and boy do they have a page that is just the $#!T$!!!

            Homey don't play dat.

Sure....you cast a big net you are bound to find a b oob...er other noob....who would just love to exchange coffee cake recipes.

But nobody in their right mind would agree to a link like that.

            Just daft.

Besides....(wait for it....wait for it....) when the chap ignores you....now what? You have a blog full of useless link outs. Which is what the OP has.

Now how's that gonna work out for ya?
Answer: Not at all, which is why the chap is here....asking if it works or is a great stratgey.

I'll pass. And I'm not afraid to tell other people to pass as well. And when I detect that they are just so fluffy with such a winning strategy....why would I want that person to not know the truth?

            I want people to succeed.

Now when link brokers contact me....I sit up and listen.

We're using hashtags now? Have mercy.

Who cares what you play?? Wake up bro....No one lives or dies online based on your say so. Of all the hundreds of thousands of sites than rank on Google none rely on paulgl. Never heard anyone say..."oh no I don't rank because paulgl don't play that"

Bloggers get links from bloggers every day Einstein. Representing payola is the only way to go is just utterly false. Crap content? The really good sites won't link to it EVEN IF PAID. So as far as the OP states that it will be good content then your advice is unsound. If its crap content then thats his fail

Sure....you cast a big net you are bound to find a b oob...er other noob....who would just love to exchange coffee cake recipes.

But nobody in their right mind would agree to a link like that.
Get out more. I have gotten links from bloggers easily. Blog rolls are exchanged all the time.

Besides....(wait for it....wait for it....) when the chap ignores you....now what? You have a blog full of useless link outs.
gee whiz I mean you must be right because everyone knows when you place a link it stays for all times and you have to go to court to remove it.....ROFL.....What are you smoking? In WP you take that thing attached to your computer call a mouse, highlight it, hit delete, and VOILA...save and its gone

Now how's that gonna work out for ya?
Fine. because unlike yours ....most people's mouse and keyboard delete key works

Now when link brokers contact me....I sit up and listen.
Sure because you don't know how to do white hat SEO. never have. The fact that you have to buy every link suggests your own sites are full of the very crap content that you claim the OP has. But thats the big game going on on this forum now. Slam the new people and claim your all that - by people who have always been careful to never show ANY forward facing sites to show they are any better or their sites are not pure crapola (if they actually have any). So yeah......hashtags

Um...I don't buy links.....link brokers (and others) contact me to buy them...
                ON MY sites.

I have never bought a link, but sell boatloads.

And why do you think that is?

                People search, find sites, B I N G O....a possible link location.

The proof is in these offers. They find me. They like me. They want a link on me.

I don't do white or black hat. I do SEO that works. Period.

Oh, and BTW, I never contact anyone for a link....I have no need.

I am out getting my own terrific links. OP should do likewise, not linking to someone, then begging for a link back. Oh my gosh is that lame with a capital L.

I call that Clown Hat SEO.

Of course you have. You have stated so in the past. You stated so in one of my PBN threads a good while ago. and thats even worse because you took a thread and made it all about your site . Like I said who cares? its a general question and no one needs your site to rank for anything.. Many bloggers do link out for no cash, get a clue Paul.

And why do you think that is?
I wouldn't be bothered getting to the why when I don't eve know if the claim is true. In the entire time I have been here I don't think you have ever offered any real proof for your claims of grandeur. You are part of a group of members that just goes after forward facing site, public businesses and well known people (and of course newbs for jollies) while hiding everything you do in the shadows so no one can even verify you have ANY sites at all.

The proof is in these offers.
Now thats funny because you have never offered a dime's worth of proof on just about anything

I am out getting my own terrific links. OP should do likewise, not linking to someone, then begging for a link back. Oh my gosh is that lame with a capital L.
No one cares very much what you call anything. On a forum its more about coherent rational conversation. I personally would not put it like that in an outreach message but the OP never asked or stated how it exactly should be worded, I have encountered bloggers in a niche I am in or working with,. indicated my enjoyment of their blog told them about my own site, they can go there and see my link to them. I've gotten many links back. It works (in some niches more than others). You are clueless on this so really are unqualified to call anything or anyone clown or clownish.

Now do you always do that and only rely on them seeing the link back to confirm a tangible appreciation? No but claiming everyone should just go get a link broker and pay for every link is just asinine.

Provided anything of what you say is true, and none of it need be accepted without proof which you never supply, it would be noobs themselves buying links on your sites. Since you only perk up when a link broker writes (ALLEGEDLY) your site or sites (ALLEGEDLY) would therefor be filled only with links from sites that buy links. I mean since you totally scoff at ever giving a link without getting paid

Now aint that a dandy farm or footprint! Plus the only sites and webmasters that sell "boatloads" of links on their sites are At BEST mid range quality. Sensible webmasters who have valued sites making money on their own (besides selling links) don't go to boatloads to get their sites penalized by Google.

Thats fine. Ignore the other posts shouting you down, Obviously they are not used to White hat SEO.

A link takes no time to make and no time to remove. If you read that blog and comment on it (in a legit non spammy way) then its all good particularly if you have decent content that they would link to. I have got many links from bloggers without paying for them.

Are link pages a good idea for all these traded links or should they be worked into the site content? It's have to have tons of link exchanges.

Count me as someone who does do this from time to time. I find that most webmasters, especially if they're in your niche-appreciate a direct request. IE, in my first email I let them know that I want to work to earn a mention in their space, as well as, a link to my site.

Most bloggers know the deal at this point and the question becomes how do you create some value for them? I find that every blogger has a much different idea about what that might entail

I don't think it should be straight-forward. You can just email him and let him know about the link and ask him for link back in reply. I guess the better way to get such links is to first contact the blog owners and ask them if they are interested in link exchanges, if you get any positive replies, you can get or with posting the link on your website/blog.

Approaching a webmaster just generally about a link exchange will have most webmasters running away. even the term "link exchange" is toxic. I don't see where the Op is far off at least in premise/

If its good content a webmaster might be inclined to like then it takes what? five seconds to link and half that to remove it later if you wish. Now the content should be worthy of getting a link without any incentive but sometimes a "hey saw your piece on this and linked to it great job there" helps build a relationship. This kind of link building should really bw about building a relationship and for the time involved in that it should be a site with good readership and authority

That's a reciprocal link so tread lightly as far as SEO and Google.

My advice is nofollow your outbound link, then ask for a link back to a page on your site (preferably a followed link). Some webmasters won't care if you nofollow the link pointing to their page or SEO (don't mention it's nofollow unless asked). Sometimes direct niche traffic via your link is all webmasters care about.
