How much do you make with Adsense?

I never really gave Adsense much thought until reading up on it the last few weeks. I got really excited over the potential I now see. I am thinking about making a major push into the Adsense business model.

So, I wanted to see how others are doing before I leap. Can you post your answers to these questions:

- How much do you make per day with Adsense?

- What strategy do you use? (tons of small sites, a few big sites or something else)

- How long have you been seriously building your Adsense business?

.

I am currently averaging $90 per day from 2 sites. One of them ranks #1 for the keyword "herbal remedies". The other site ranks on the first page of Google for any terms related to women and motorcycling. I have been working on this now for 3 years. There are other sources of income on the sites besides Adsense. My 2 little sites total about $50k per year.

I have been using adsense to monetize sites for years and the income does very but is a great revenue source. I would definitely test to see if Adsense works well in your niche but remember to always test it against other monetization options. I have found that many other things like CPA or affiliate links actually produce more revenue on the same pages.

I make more than most but not as much as some.

I agree that some other ads work better than adsense I like ebay aff program which pays out really well.

However just remember not to build your business on the back of someone elses, you are leaving yourself open to all sorts of trouble if they drop the aff program or dump you.

Lots of a little is my motto

    Good luck

One question that rarely gets asked when discussing Adsense - What kind of traffic do you get and click through rate? I noticed CTR mentioned in one place.

The reason I ask is knowing what rate per visitor you are making helps you determine the economical ways to grow traffic.

So revenue per visit to me is a much better measurement than straight dollars.

My $90 per day is coming from approximately 3,500 unique visitors per day with the majority coming from the herbal remedies site.

I think you are right about that.

People better keep those CTR figures very generic though if they want to stay with the program.

I get 95% of all my online income from Adsense. I used to dabble around doing a lot of different monetization options. Had a bunch of spreadsheets trying to track it all.

But now I concentrate on Adsense because it is so easy on my part to keep up with. I don't have to worry about which affiliate program has paid me yet. I know almost exactly when my money is going to arrive and I don't have to worry about it. No customer service issues. No follow up to make sure they don't return what they bought.

I know there are affliate programs that might get more income, but I haven't encountered any affiliate program that is as easy for me to deal with as Adsense is. And there are many areas where that steady supply of pennies per click beats the affiliate payments on a per visitor basis.

That being said, I do use OpenX Ad Server to manage my ads so that I can change all or part of them quickly if I need to. I figure if you have a website with traffic optimized for buyer oriented keywords you have money in the bank no matter what you advertise on it.

Somebody mentioned Ebay's affiliate program above. It will be interesting how that changes with Ebay's new method of computing how much you make.
