Question on duplicate content.

Hey there Warriors!

I attended a seminar on SEO in Ecuador and the speaker recommended I create several sites with different domain names (like .co.uk, .us, .cn, .ru) to target the different countries. He said I should duplicate the site and only change the domain name.
I'm not sure if this will harm my ranking or help it. What do you guys think?

Is there a better way to target specific countries from my own site?

NOTE: I own a business that offers tours to travelers. It would be ideal for them to be able to book the tours from their home countries.

I'd build one site and target individual pages based on the country SERP you would like to rank your pages on. That way you can focus on one site and running your business instead of trying to keep up with a bunch of domains that could just as easily be consolidated.
  • Agree with Yukon. Its better to use one website that targets multiple languages.

    Disagree with that recommendation.

I would recommend to have a drop down box in your home page in which contains different pages of languages to target different locations. Each site pages will have the translations of the content as well as the other features of the site.
