500 pages indexed and no main key word.

Hey guys,

Its been a while since I been on here. I ran into a problem I cant figure out.

My main keyword is Milwaukee Auto Market. I have a few pages and posts with that keyword.

Looking through my awstats, that key word isn't there. Even in Google Webmaster it isn't there.

I have over 500 indexed. The pages and post are pretty good for seo. Should be no reason not to pick up that key word.

If you type that keyword in google, my facebook page is first and then my forums. But thats it. I should have at least a few pages on the first page of google.

What would be the next step to do? Im kinda lost as I never had this problem.

This is a topic that takes up a lot of space on Warrior Forum. There's all sorts of advice - from backlinking to PBNs. A long weekend coming up in the U.S. Here's a list of free ebooks for summer reading:

Sounds like your site has problems with relevancy. With 500 articles, you may be diluting what your target really is depending on your structure, etc...

Have ONE post you want to rank for this KW. Make sure it's a long one that rocks. Then point 10 to 20 articles to that post using the KW (mix it up - have longer sentences) and synonyms of the KW. Also check out what variations of the KW come up in Google's LSI at the bottom of Google and add them. This way it is clear to Google what the page is about.

This is obviously just a guess as I haven't seen the structure of the site nor the content. Hope it helps.

Just how are "looking" for your keyword?

Anyway, no matter. Perhaps Milwaukee Auto Market is not a keyword/phrase in the real sense.

Give me a reason for anyone to use such a thing.

    As a brand? That's not a keyword. That's a brand.

If I search for Best Buy, that's not a keyword. I'm going to get Best Buy.

I'm not going to get pages optimized for that term, unless they are
    waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down the line.

But it would be silly for me to ever get there.

Give me an example of anyone searching for Milwaukee Auto Market.

If they were, google probably would steer them to something else that seems more logical.
Meaning, all words, in that order, Milwaukee Auto Market, may or may not appear.

    But you would never know.

The main keyword Milwaukee Auto Market does show up in the engines. But I don't have a single key word in my Google Search Analytics. Says no data for my links.

I have tried many different seo plugins.

I think its from the Simple Press forums plugin. Comes with seo.

Im also having an issue with sharing to facebook. It only shows the main image with main page description when trying to share a topic from the forums. I have had it working before but now its not.

What would you guys recommend for these settings. This is for the Simple Press plugin.

    Page/Browser Title (SEO)
(You can click all of them)
    Overwrite page/browser title with ours
Include blog name in page/browser title
Include page name in page/browser title
Display page name on forum home page (Group View) only
Include forum name in page/browser title
Include topic name in page/browser title
Exclude forum name in page/browser title on topic views only
Include non-forum page view names (ie profile, member list, etc) in page/browser title
    Title separator:`````````````````````

it's most likely dilution and unsupportive site structure.

read what William C Allen wrote again, i think he is spot on.

pick 1, or pick your front page, and link back internally to that

with full relevant pages! thats very important, shows them what to rank
so to speak the cream cracker of relevancy, the important thing people
want to read. -- with 500 pages, which one should they rank?

      All?

how about none, makes a lot more sense to them, and me as well

I already fixed that issue. 99 submitted and 58 indexed. Its all relevant content. The main keywords for the main pages have pretty good seo and should rank.

I've had this problem for awhile now and pretty sure its in the simple press settings.

I have another site and that is doing just fine for seo. I have no problems with that site.

What settings above would you pick?

Yes. Im talking about all the other pages. Google shows no search traffic for the site. No keywords. Nothing. I verified it 3 ways. I tried many different seo plugins. Different sitemaps. Its only Google. Yahoo does just fine with seo.

That doesn't matter, Webmaster Tool data is just a trophy. Even If there's data it's always going to be incomplete and/or outdated.

If you want data use a 3rd party tool and check ranked positions today.

My hosting awstats show the same. Seems its just the main page is coming up for keywords.

Its getting plenty of traffic from Facebook.

I truly think its the settings for the forums. With trying to post a forum topic to facebook and getting the main page, seems its putting the main title and descriptions to every page.

The settings above are questionable with exactly what its going to do.

Why Im asking what you would set it at? I might just have it set this way and not resizing it.
