Incorrect data under search analytics in search console

I always check the keywords that are getting highest impressions under search analytics.

But its very disappointing to see misleading data by Google.

I found that the keyword "Exercise Bands" have the highest number of impressions under the search analytics filter "Search Type = Web" I made a Google search for this keyword on different PC's from different locations and always found that our website is ranking on the top under "Image Result" and not the "Web Result". In fact under web search our website didn't ranked at all (I checked top 20 SERP).

Since we cannot distinguish the Web & Image keywords from the data google is providing it becomes extremely difficult to make decisions on improving the ranking

I don't see anything misleading here. An image on your site gets shown when people google Exercise Bands. Since the image is on your site, you are given credit for it being shown. What's misleading in there?

And Google tells you which pages on your site are shown, even some of the keywords.

Sir, in the Google search console under Search Analytics there are filter provided where you can select the data for either of the three search types - 1. Web 2. Image 3. Video. So here, when I choose "Web" it also gives me data from "Image" search.

I want to focus on optimizing my Web search results but since the data under Web is mixed with Image its causing problem.

Double check it using some other analytics tool like gostats.

Well there's your answer! You must be in a parallel universe, or looking at extremely moldy data.

So of course it's going to be wrong. Especially when you try anything purely organic.

After all, this is 2016, isn't it?

There is no such thing as pure organic search anymore, and even more reason to no give any real data.

I have no idea what you think you are checking.
