Hello, I had a quick question I was hoping someone could help me with. I was just about to start trying to get some backlinks set up for my site finally to try and get some traffic to roll through but Im stuck on how to get my link in the comment without making it look spammy. What is the best setup for a comment on a blog for backlinking?

  • First - Read the rules that the blogger runs the comment section by. They usually cover what they think are spammy links.

Second - Most comment sections include a link for your website, use this unless a) they don't have it in which case I use my signature to link to it or b) if a post on my site is specifically relevant to the section I am commenting on, I will say something like.

Great article on subject xyz. you really covered the areas of CCC very well. I liked how you did DDD. I covered something very similar on my site recently. You can reach it at blahblahblah. I did have a different take on FFF but overall we appear to agree.

Or you can disagree and lead them to see why.

Make real comments. Contribute to the conversation and most blog owners don't mind links back to your site. In general most of them are nofollow so you don't get linkjuice but they still want you to contribute.

Plus you will get more traffic if you comment makes sense and appears intelligent than just a spam comment

    • Yea. Add a signature to your forum posts here That would be the easiest one.

Also don't just think about commenting on blog posts, look for active forums in your niche as well.

Link from your Facebook status, your Linkedin profile, your Myspace page, twitter (what?? You don't have them? Go get them. All free and all allow links but you don't get any linkjuice. Just traffic)

My site is still fairly low in traffic but am working to speed it up. Started about three months ago and averaged thirty visits a day this week. Write good stuff too. You want them to look around when they visit. I am averaging 1.9 pages per visit. Have no idea if that is any good or not but hoping to keep them involved.

Write several high quality Hubpages to allow follow links to go out to your blog. Takes some time but I have heard it is worth it. Currently working on this one myself.

Guest blog in adjacent niches. Currently working on this one too

  • Giveth, and thee shall receive. Link out from great content.
  • You have to read the blogs and have to give quality comments with 40-45 words which should be about the topic which is being discussed over there in the blog. As well as, you have to make sure that your English is 100% accurate.

Apart from blog, Y can't u try with some forums? Specially our WF (:p)

  • First and foremost, you should set up your signature in this forum. The more active you are the forum, the more backlinks you will get. If you don't know how to set it up, check out this thread.

  • I feel the secret of quality backlinks is reading the blog or the forum post very carefully and replying to it with genuine understanding in about 30-35 words minimum and adding your signature. Some blogs allow your web link to be added, you could d that to get qaulity backlinks working. Thanks
