Guest posting for slow SEO that might work

Hello Guys.
I blog since three year in technology and gadgets categories, but I have no SEO experience or expertise.
I want to do a SEO campaign for my Gadgets site, the way I will do this is via guest posting on niche sites. Will not worry about the site's SEO metrics as long as the guest site is not marked as spammy, I believe, and hope that for as long as those sites are clean, they will be improved in the future, and there will be tougher then to acquire backlinks from them.
I am entering with budget $0, all the way I doing it is via reaching out site's webmasters and contact forms (contact forms aren't providing much result though). The SEO metrics I am using consist on DA/PA and Alexa ranking.
The way I will be linking to my site is like this: 30% to the homepage and 70% to blog posts within the site. All the links from blog posts and anchored ( I do need some tips on targeting keywords).
This campaign will last for 3 months and I will try to find time to update my site sometime rarely. What I'm feeling most sorry for, is that I am giving away some of my most brilliant ideas to other sites.
For the whole process of 6 months which I am expecting to start generating results, each month will take screenshots on what's changing. After six months will re-write here to tell what happened. Will provide the sources too, and if it worked for me, it will work better for you.
Any suggestion that might work is welcomed.
Cheers, Bledi.
