is it good to make a blog on SEO, keeping the competition in mind ?

I want to know that if i'll make an SEO blog than, would it be difficult for me to rank the site because of SEO or i can boost my rankings fast by writing great content ?

    That depends on you and the keywords you target.

    You won't rank first page for the keyword seo. If you could you wouldn't have started this forum thread, you would just go ahead and rank a page.

    Longtail keywords are sometimes a safer bet for weak SERP competition. The traffic will be lower but at least you'll have traffic. Have to start somewhere.

    So... instead of targeting one root keyword (ex: seo) that gets 1000 traffic per day (example) target 100 longtail keywords that each get 10 traffic per day (example). You end up with the same amount of traffic (ex: 10 x 100 = 1000).

    In order to rank your site, you will need to first optimize it for your targeted keywords, and then build quality backlinks to it. Unless your keywords are extremely competitive, it will not be difficult to rank. However, SEO requires time and patience, and rankings will not be achieved overnight. If you continue to add unique content to your site and build enough high quality backlinks, your site will eventually make it to page 1 for its keywords.
