When I load www.google.com from India, I could see a site on # 1 (which I had worked), Even If I tried from Asia, I can see it on # 1 (Say from Paki, or SriLanka or Thailand or Singapore or any Asian countries)

But, when I asked my friend to chk frm US, it is on the old position (which is # 2). I thought it will get changed within 24-48 hours, but for past 72 hours, it remains the same, in US, it is #2, in Asia it is #1

Y is this??? However, I do get more backlinks from some IRRLEATED forums as usual - which lead me to get # 2

Any ideas

different datacenters may give u different serp.

your site ranking will definitely fluctuate from time to time thus don't have to be so anal about it as long as it is always on page 1.

    my 2 cents.

A lot of people think that Google is 1 big computer that the software sits on.
When in fact, Google is spread across a lot of seperate computers all using a slightly different version of the database.

I remember reading somewhere (I have no idea how accurate this info was, but I could imagine it being fairly accurate) that Googles runs on over 100,000 different servers, and can you imagine how difficult it would be to keep that number of machines all synchronised!

It also stated that to keep this number of machines all humming along, as well as all the air conditioning to keep the machines running at peak performance, they use show much electricity that they could consume all the electricity that a small electrical powerstation could produce..

So, no wonder there are differences between data centres when there are so many machines to synchronise..

      Take care
