How do you people come up with this stuff? Do you spend your time searching nonsense terms aimlessly looking for some shower curtain review article ranking?

I can't ever remember doing search and thinking about length of article or any other such nonsense.

If google answers my question in one word, great!

You people fill your time with complete utter nonsense that a real person would not be doing.

Do you people even know how the internet works? ....Google?

We where after any insight from alledged experts, but we encounter Richard Kraniums such as you! All you seem to do is cast sarcasm on peoples posts.

No doubt you are some kid in their moms bedroom/garage never actually doing any SEO at all. Using this forum as your only way to find friends/interact with people - sad really!

Google says this...https://support.google.com/webmaster.../2604824?hl=en shows you know F'all Paul!

So you will not be aware of the changes being rolled out for local seo either?

I have multiple sites where every single page is lucky to have one sentence per page. Been doing this for 10 years, still ranking pages.

Yukon, that must be for local, this is for an international search term!

We did add an article, image and video to the blogspot that had no content and we have been tracking it and the best day was yesterday with 671 clicks, resulting in 246 inquiries and 93 sales at $9,379 each. Not bad for the quietest month of the year!

We can all rank pages, but top 3 first page, is better than page 100

It is normal to rank high on that blogpost, but its only temporary and well experienced SEOs already knew that, so its not new to the field.

You right, cause i'm new to this game, only been doing seo since 1998.

If you had read, I put a blank blog post up, onlt optimizing the title and it ranked first page and still there, several weeks on so not so temporary. I have now put content on it such as a goood article and obviously a telephone number and website url.

Its not how long you have been in the field but how much did you earn and contribute effectively in the business. There are long time people in the business but still not improving itself.

Well what I noticed are the ads, especially the top and the bottom part of the SERP. Search result is being occupied by ads.

Yes, I even noticed the 3 pack had adwords in on several location servers, looks like gGoogle is monetiing everything - we've done a survey and most of our clients use other search engines fortunatley which we have the top 3 spots for all the keywords targeted. So this does not affect business - BUT it will affect people targeting local seo and the prestige of Google!

Guys do not forget Google is a Company and company are meant for business. Google is being same. Now a days even a crappy website ranks on 1st page. Thanks to Google Ad and a website with so much to learn ranks somewhere else. Thank to Google again.

I'm shocked by this Google update. My site was ranking at 2nd position for my money keyword, but this week someones small diet review site occupied this position. I checked their backlinks and found that they built a lot of links from forum spam posts. Most of these forums are even not relevant to diet/weight loss niche!!

Also, I checked other pages on this site and they also rank in top 3 for hot keywords using spam forum links!!

Exactly! If we had done this a couple of years ago, the sites would be penalized, now it seems Google is rewarding crappy sites with crappy back links, this will result in poor customer experience - something google was promoting only recently!

Yupp, they did a pretty significant update, it happens, but usually if your links get hurt by it you can get them ranked again rather quickly. Also, sometimes Google does another update and then you'll find yourself right back on top
