Hi Guys
I am fairly new ( 2 months in) learning IM and all its great capabilities. Right now I have purchased a domain name with an up and coming niche. But I plan on building the site on wordpress. Just looking for some input on the following :

Is it tougher to rank with a WP site ?
Is there any suggestions on how what I should build a news style site off ?
Do meta tags work well for WP sites.

Sorry if these question sound begginer ish.

  • Hi,

Google loves WordPress. WordPress sites are known for easy ranking and it's features which can always be enhanced with the help of thousands and thousands of plugins.

WordPress community is very active and adaptive for any technological and security changes or updates.

and yes, meta tags work with WordPress.

  • No, in fact it's easier to rank with WP than websites such as wix.com that have hardly any positives when it comes to SEO. Google loves WP and a large chunk of all blogs are now WP.

It depends how tech-savvy you are. Luckily, wordpress offers a lot of fantastic free themes. Just remember to customise all the main areas such as logo, titles, footer, contact page. Etc.

I would go for a website as long as it is responsive. This means that is will respond to different screen sizes, so that if someone is on their ipad or mobile it is still easy navigated. Google has pretty much made responsive mandatory by this point because of the level of mobile traffic.

Yes they do. As does Title, tags, URL, headings and other SEO basics. I would suggest the free tool SEO Yoast - this will help you target keywords and make the most of your content. It is also easy to use!

    Good luck.
