Hello there,

I have a 1 year old review website which had 6 articles at its sidebar (The main page is an static page which explains different accepts of an educational product)... Through Google Analytics I noticed that the bounce rate of that website was near 40%, so a few months ago I tried and added 15 new articles at the sidebar. I see now that the visitors who come to the main page they now visit more articles at sidebar as well. When the website had just 6 sidebar articles, the visitors normally visited 1 or 2 of them per day. now after adding extra articles they visit more than 9 articles per day when they land on the main page...

But Still I see that the bounce rate is almost the same as before (ie near 40% or so)!!

I am wondering why the bounce rate is not going to change while the visitors go to more pages now???!!!

Can anyone please help?

Thank you.

Here's a tip for increasing page views, add a very small thumbnail image next to each internal link.

Google does this (thumbnail images) on Google SERPs. The small thumbnail image does boost CTR.

If traffic isn't staying on the page it could be a few different reasons:
    • Page takes too long to load in browser
    • Host is down
    • The page content doesn't match what traffic expects
    • Traffic found an exit (ex:banner ad/link, email optin redirect, etc...)

  • I think visitors isn't getting whatever they are finding for.

40% Bounce rate is pretty good.
