Will editing my post and adding an outbound link affect my ranking?

I'm ranked 1st in Google for a long-tail keyword. It's around 1,000 word review and it currently has 2 outbound links at the very end of the article. I've recently discovered through PPC that this particular product I promote in my review, converts cold traffic well. So I'm thinking about adding a link at the very beginning of my review page.
My question is, will adding this link at the beginning of my review have a potential affect on it's ranking?
