PR drop

I own a site which used to have PR 5. Then I started building backlinks (few linkwheels, Angela's and Paul's backlinks) and now my site is PR 4, though it ranks much higher in google (first page for desired keyword). I don't really care that much about PR, but is this normal?

  • Normalcy in a system that is anything but normal won't been forthcoming.

    I gave up trying to figure out the G a while ago. I would just keep doing what you're doing. One night six weeks from now they'll see the backlinks and blast you up to #1 with a PR8. I think they do it just to mess with us.

    • Getting a high PR should not be our objective, getting high search engine ranking is. Also PR helps but only about 20% of how high you will rank in the search engines. Angela's backlink building is really good. Don't blame your loss on PR to this as there could be many other factors. You should continue with the backlink building as that's so important to our business.
