I've got to say that you don't need to be a genius to work out that if you can get your content into Google's featured snippet box, you'll be doing your click through rates a favour. (For those of you who aren't sure, the featured snippet box is the box of text that sits at the top of the search results on Google and it displays your content.)

According to this HubSpot article, if your web content optimised correctly and your site features, it can increase your CTR by a massive 114%!

This article is really in-depth and goes into lots of detail about why featured snippets are so important, how to find out how you rank in the featured snippet section and some thorough analysis on websites that have already featured.

To summarise some key takeaways from the article:
[LIST][*]Backlinks are important[*]Some knowledge of coding will be beneficial to optimise your site. [*]Google favours questions - if you can find what questions people are asking to get to your site and address the answers in a <p> tag with 54*58 characters, your chances are increased. [*]Your page should include the answers to the search query as a h2, h3, h4 site.

There is much more detail in this Hubspot article so I highly recommend reading it.

For me, my key focus at the moment is optimising my new site so that it has as much exposure as possible so if anyone has any further input on this subject it would be much appreciated.

I'd just like to point out here that I'm not an expert in this and I'm just learning as I go, which I believe many of us are
