Hi
I have a new site that I need to rank for a term
It has been indexed by google but the pages indexed are off

basically when I do a site:domain.com look up I see 6 results back
The home page still has the information of when the domain was parked after I purchased it
Google hasnt updated the content yet

I also noticed that at the bottom of google it says some pages have been omitted
When I press to see these results
My proper home page comes up

Also other pages urls are out dated referring to sample pages I had in
The site is less than a week old but is there away to resubmit it to google so its indexed properly or should I just leave it and it will fix itself
I have submitted a sitemap

thanks

You can ask google to re-index it, be submitting your sitemap and also using the "Fetch as googlebot" tool in the webmaster tools.

To tell if a new page is indexed, use the word "Cacheaganame" in google to see, similar to the "sitename:domainname"

    thanks for that
As i said I did put in a sitemap and also 'fetched as google' in webmaster tools.

One problem I have noticed is configuring between wwww.domain and domain.com

I can see that the result shown in google on site:domain.com is non www. for the home
and www for the other pages
The result from google shows the non www. home page as the domain parked site

While if you click on omitted results my site with www shows
Although not with the updates title and meta tags

Personally i dont care which one google uses
But in wordpress I have my url set to non www and have my site uploaded to Webmaster tools as non www

I am also using All In One SEO at have the following link put in on my home page
    <link rel="canonical" href="http://domain.com/" />

Is there something else I need to do to configure between WWW and non www in-relation to Google and SEO

If you did follow that any advice would be welcomed

You don't know what to do with www and non-www. That is a tipoff to your underlying problem.

The real answer, once again, is to ditch WP, learn how webpages, servers, html, php, etc. work. Along with how google works. The start the whole bloody thing over again.

But you, as countless others, will not listen. You will continue to use WP, get plugins, put more bandaids on it, until it seems right. Then come back again when something else blows up from the bloated, inane, cms called "wordpress." It should be called worthlesspress.

Giving you a technical answer would seem futile.

      WOW OK

I do know how to design sites from scratch
I am a web designer I can use HTML CSS Java Script and PHP

In-fact I have only recently started using wordpress after learning how to design my own templates

I have been told in the past that wordpress is better for SEO.

There used to be a way in webmaster tools to configure your www, and non www together so links count for both
This option now looks more complicated and google console is asking me to confer both sites as separate websites in the console
This seems abit unnecessary to me
I think in the future I will stick to www. but for now just looking for the best way to fix this issue

OK it has indexed the pages properly and also I am appearing in the search results for the main key phrase
Page 7 but its a start for site about a week old

Google isnt picking up my meta description however and using text from the page
The descriptions are put in with 'All In One SEO'

Ill leave it for a bit and work on back links

"Have you submit sitemap to google webmaster tools ? If not create a sitemap and submit to Google . Also when you post
something on your website you can go submit link immediately manually. It will tell the search engine about it."
