Question About Forum Signatures

This may be a dumb question, but since I can't find or remember what the answer is, I'd thought I'd ask.

We all know the importance of using a well constructed 'signature' when it comes to marketing our product(s) and/or services in those forums that allow it, but does that 'signature' count as a back-link to the site the signature is linking to?

I'm thinking no, but just need to confirm if my thinking is right not.

Thanks,

Ray

Yea it counts as a backlink. You want to avoid putting your link in your sig in forums that apply the nofollow rule, or you'll links look like spam.

If the forum allows dofollow signature links then yeah you get a backlink from the links. Warrior Forum is a forum that allows dofollow links and some others are:

SitePoint Forums: Resources, Design, HTML, CSS, PHP, ASP, MySQL and more for your web site.
Webmaster Forum - Internet Marketing & Search Engine Forums
Webmaster-Talk.com Webmaster Forum - Web Design, Coding, SEO Forums

and many many more. You can google it and you will find lots.

      Thanks for the responses guys!

I'm making a list now of the forums that I'm going to be posting in which are relevant to the niche I'm entering so I'll read up on whether those certain forums are 'do-follow' or 'no-follow'.
