Your website seo health is critical to ensure that you rank on search engines. Most new marketers are quick to follow some seo methods found online without the knowledge of whether what they are doing is good or bad for seo. Or whether those methods are latest seo techniques or outdated. Once the damage is done to your website it is very difficult to fix it. If you are serious about your website seo, get an expert to help you. Its better to get things right the first time than keep waiting for a badly optimized website to rank well because it never will.

I totally agree. In fact I would say that once you do something " Wrong " its impossible to come back from that. And I am speaking from experience doing something wrong 15 years ago and still I can't get anywhere near back to where I was in search traffic.

Once you piss off the mean green that seems to be it for your seo career. Your website is finished forever. Isn't googles main ram only like 9 megs of memory and runs decentralized all over the planet? Once propagation stops it never returns does it? Am I right? Or am I way out to lunch?

I agree, it's no different to anything else - if you're not trained and experienced, leave it to a professional. I am pretty tired of everyone being a 'marketing expert', an 'SEO professional' and whatever else, the truth of the matter is, inexperience does more harm than good. I have never touched my SEO, I invest in the best and get someone who has the knowledge to do it for me. They can do it faster and they show their craft. Couldn't agree with you more here.

You don't need to be an expert to know the basics of SEO (plain text + followed links) and use common sense.

How are you supposed to learn to perform SEO yourself then? Everyone who owns a website should at least have a basic understanding of SEO and try to implement a few techniques. Many people also can't afford to pay agency fee's either. A better way would be for someone to start a second website that they can use for testing because they will most likely make mistakes that may be harmful.
