Do Press Releases Stay Indexed In Google?

I did a press release for a company recently and got lots of indexed releases. After a few days most of the releases are no longer indexed. Is it normal to experience this? It seems like the only release that is still indexed is the original submission.

Because press releases are sold by snake oil salesmen and for the most part, useless.

Nobody is going to get you a real press release unless you are a major business, popular actor, singer, politician, etc. And they will be at your door waiting.

And those are not bogus, lame, idiotic so-called "press releases" that are just plain silly to even think about doing.

Thanks for your feedback Paul! Do you do online reputation management? That's why I did the press release to see how that would perform when optimizing for "Company name reviews". I'm trying to push down some of the negative Yelp reviews and not sure how to go about it efficiently.

those press releases are not worth it unless you are really popular in that case the press releases will be waiting for you instead of the other way around situation.

A press release is good for immediate traffic and if it is a high authority website, it might lead to a temporary rankings bump. Don't count on companies keeping press release pages on their sites forever - at least the good websites.

norcalrich, the reason of that situation might be:

    1. The websites with these "Press Releases" were spam-sites.
    2. You published a duplicated content.

To solve your problem you'll need to publish releases at the Hi-quality Mass Media websites...

    Paul, to elaborate your post.

If you are "major business, popular actor, singer, politician, etc. And they will be at your door waiting" - agreed.
But if you are smb else - you could get releases published as well. Just swap: you'll be staying at the editor's door.
