Please I need your expert view on my current move. sorry for the long post, but i wish to explain clear.
I was actually trying to promote my programming articles related site; I am getting ~250 visitors daily. But CTR is very low. After discussing with few warriors here I concluded that the niche is not good for adsense.
So I am just going to find other niches where I can earn some decent adsense earnings.
I hesitated too much to move to different niche, but luckily this niche currently I am analyzing is quite closer and similar. But the visitor profiles are different from programmers so i feel better in terms of CTR.
I have taken the following from Google Traffic estimator for a list of keywords.

Keyword CPC clicks Cost/day
----------------------------------------------
keyword 1 $0.67 5
,873 $2,860.00
keyword 2 $0.58 5
,376 $2,260.00
keyword 3 $1.63 395 $480.00
keyword 4 $2.81 42 $80.00
keyword 5 $1.27 40 $40.00
keyword 6 $0.64 14 $7.00
keyword 7 $1.08 3 $3.00

And I have used Google Adwords Keywords checker tool for the same above keywords for finding the monthly traffic for the keywords

Keywords Search volume Monthly
----------------------------------------------
keyword 1 823000
keyword 2 201000
keyword 3 74000
keyword 4 49500
keyword 5 480
keyword 6 18100
keyword 7 1,900

Competition I am actually checking the no of results as well the strength of each page in the search result.
My question now is, Will this be enough for bringing in some decent earnings from Adsense?
Should I need to check anything before starting buying domains.etc

  • Pon,

You'll almost certainly find that keyword1 and keyword2 have very stiff competition, and probably keyword3 and keyword4 as well.

The general (very general) rule of thumb I use is appx. $.50-$1/day per 1000 searches. If I want to see $25/day, I need to rank on Page 1 for an aggregate search volume of 25k-50k.

    Hope that helps~

exactly, i felt that as well and i am not concentrating directly the keyword1, keyword2,and keyword3 as well.

these three keywords are all related to keywords keyword 4, keyword 5,keyword 6,keyword 7 which i have confidence that i can come to the first page in few months time.

1)Do you know how to calculate the competition?
2)Is there any difference in interms of SEO for .Net and .Com domains.

the first keyword and second keyword's compination is available in .net domain without dashes

BTW am i missing anything in this analysis stage? This time i would like to analyse well before proceeding.
