Hey guys,

I was wondering what are your thoughts on thin content galleries?

I have a website that has great content on all the pages besides the gallery. Its a local service website so we like to upload before/after pics of the completed project.

I've been trying to add content to each gallery page but its a little difficult to add more than 150-200 words per gallery page.

Should i be worried about thin content for galleries? I see a lot of businesses that just post pictures with no content at all.

Would Google overlook galleries in there thin content search?

    Pictures are content.

If/when google talks about thin content, they mean:
    -gibberish
    -constantly misspelling words
-a mixed up rehash of something else
-no apparent reason to be on the net

    Official examples:
    Automatically generated content
    Thin affiliate pages
Content from other sources. For example: Scraped content or low-quality guest blog posts
    Doorway pages

If that was a problem, then sites like Pinterest and Instagram would be screwed.

Google does not care about word count when they talk about thin content. Thin content does not mean X number of words.

What they really mean is shitty content, scraped content, worthless content, etc.

Google’s initial Panda update was targeted primarily at content farms – sites with a massive amount of content written purely for the purpose of ranking well in search and attracting as much traffic as possible.

You’ve probably clicked your way onto a content farm before – most of us have. The content is typically packed with keywords and light on factual information, giving it big relevancy for a search engine but little value for an actual reader.
