Hey there I just bought a web app that was targeting US. Most of the backlinks are based on the US.

My business in related and bought this domain. I am about to move that domain in a subfolder of my main domain. Should I target AU in WMT? How will that affect the backlinks that domain already had?

Will Google see it as spam since my domain will target AU and the backlinks are from the US?

When dealing with American business people the use of Australian slang should be avoided as it may lead to confusion and misunderstanding. Ensure you use American spelling on materials targeted at the American market, e.g. color not colour.Business attire is very important and projects the image of your company. American business people are generally quite sensitive to dress standards, so it is wise to dress on the conservative side, a business suit is appropriate for meetings and most trade shows. Dress according to the region/market you are in as well as the industry e.g. in Silicon Valley where much of the technology industry is centered, they tend to dress more casually. However in the financial services industry in any part of the country, the dress code requires business suits.Academic credentials are not necessary on business cards. Americans will be more impressed with your understanding of the market, your product and their company. It is recommended that phone and fax numbers on your business cards should have the international country code dialling details.Face-to-face business meetings are an important element of doing business.

This question needs to be re-asked. its not even possible to buy a domain name and move it into a subfolder. You can redirect to a subdomain but thats not the same thing.

also if the app targets US why would you bother with putting it as australian?

Perhaps he means sub-hosting....but then, the whole thing is iffy.

Not only what you describe, but the buying of a "web app." Any links to a web app would need to be done to the site that it resided on.

And that could be in a subfolder or subdomain. But then, one would need to buy the old domain for the backlinks to work, not get a new one.

If you bought the domain with the app, why on earth would you move it?

And then we have the backlink question. Your scenario would mean that you would insist that only US sites link to your site, if you target the US. That's silly. Since you have no control who what or how people link, thinking that google is somehow into idiocy, well....
